UAC on Ultra Nightmare how many attempts?

I've just started and it's ridic, just clearing that first square took like 4 tries. I see that entire run through ultra nightmare on youtube and it's insane. Not only are the enemies more powerfull and have more health, but just 1 mistake = starting the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing over ! I just want the achievement for clearing map 1

I was able to do it in 4 tries. Play it on a lower difficulty first, you will learn where all enemies are and you will create a tactic to kill them....it's not that hard to beat it on Ultra Nightmare UAC. The rest of the levels would be more challenging though.

Oah absolutely, and looking at some of the Ultra runs on yt it looks like the key is not just playing fast, but those guys burn through ammo, just like even if it's not right on target blasting the whole time. I also just found a clip of some guy who beat Ultra using nothing but a pistol, just insane.

It's pretty damn brutal and I love that they added it for the hardcore masochists. It'll take me forever before I can git gud enough to beat the entire game on UN.

This is the toughest of the toughest. You can't just blindly charge in. A lot of straffing will have to be involved. It took me a lot of tries just to make it to lazarous labs. I still couldn't beat the cyberdemon. Died three times to him already.
