DOOM
gonzoguns Sep 19, 2016 @ 6:47pm
My Doom is Doomed since the update, won't start period, ran great before the update
From the looks of it, I'm not the only one that the update destroyed, game is unplayable period, won't even start except after a 3-4 min I get a crash report......so much for Doom

This is just a rant at this point, so many games not working now it's not worth the effort to even submit through the channels

Usually when lots of games stop working, it's not the games that are the problem.

Nice computer. It must not be full of crappy software, virus, corrupted OS, Drivers not up to date, never do your windows update or something like that.

It's pretty obvious that Doom was updated and that the patch requires you having something on your PC like the new Windows Updates to work and you didnt install it.

Please format your PC.

EDIT : Why there is no info on your GPU in the details you gave us ? Do you even have one ? :p

Yea I know, it's clearly a really crappy update that wasn't tested properly, sad thing is my game was running insanely good, not one issue and even the new video drivers were working flawless, unreal that one lousy update could completely break my game.....too bad.....no Doom for a while until they fix what they broke.

They released a patch. The patch needs you to have something you clearly don't have on your PC and it doesnt work anymore. Not the game. It's your PC.

You have a laptop do you ?

You shouldn't assume, my system is flawless, updated and bug free.....not my system tweedle
gonzoguns Sep 19, 2016 @ 6:59pm
"So many games noy working" referr's to the crash reports thread that is now pinned, every other game I have is perfect.....Doom is the only one Doomed

It's your system. I know it. We know it. Do something about it instead of just blaming the game.

I guess being a twerp is what your good at......bag it....I'm done with the thread...had my say

Took me a minute to find this thread.

https://steamcommunity.com/app/379720/discussions/0/351659808488906678/?ctp=2

The guy had the same error as you. ExpCode: 0xE06D7363 (Undefined Exception)

He solved it by "Yeah the virtual memory was not set to recommended size so I set it and I had the visual effects already set to best performance."

When you gogle that error it will give you a couple solutions and one of them is the virtual memory and the other is related to virus / malwares.

So at least try to fix your stuff before blaming the game.

Tried the virtual memory increase, didn't work, the game ran perfect at max framerates before the update, verified files,,,,,nothing

By the way Sanual, I'm 62, built my 1st gaming system in 1992 running dos, built another one with 3.1, then in 95 built an ultra hotrod custom just for win 95, I have 5 systems right now for doing special tasks and one gaming system that runs everything I have on Ultra settings.....I'm no noob .....but thanks for the effort
gonzoguns Sep 19, 2016 @ 10:32pm
The Vulcan drivers are my next suspect, I completely uninstalled the game and reinstalling now, the Vulcan drivers were running great, but if something got goofed up, that would be my primary suspect right now, will know if the game will start with the basic config, if that get the game back up I'll and reinstall the Vulcan drivers......I didn't mean to be hard on you, I was already pissed off at Microsoft for something else I had to change back due their intrusive garbage, but it wasn't something that would effect the game.

I appreciate the help, I wasn't even able to access the base settings, the game never started up, I can visually see what each thread of the CPU is doing and it was just grinding away for at least 4 minutes before it just crashed and threw up a crash report, hopefully reinstalling from scratch will load the GL and then I can try the Vulcan drivers again.....if this works

Let me know if it works after reinstall. Well work this out together ;)

Quick question tho. The system you are trying to run Doom right now. What kind of GPU does it have and on what Windows ?.

2.4GHZ, 16GB RAM, NO GPU information. This is a laptop or an old dual core desktop right ?

Samual, I appeciate your efforts, didn't mean be to be hard ya

The system is a gaming laptop so I can travel with it, games scream on it like FO4 with a 205 mods installed running on Ultra settings, the Doom settings were maxed out too and Doom ran at full framerates with any lag at all with the Vulcan drivers.

Well my Doom is still Doomed.....a full reinstall and nothing.....doesn't even try to start.....just throws up a crash report.....wish there was a way to roll back the update so at least I had a playable game before the update.
