doom is doom, this is a remake/remaster/both of the original game, not gonna suddenly turn open world, sorry to disapoint but just because a game isn't "oPeNWolrD" doesn't mean its bad(this game is really good, worth it for the single player alone)and just because a game is open world doesn't mean its an amazing game
do you even know what doom is or are you actually just trolling?
no,it doesn't need to "evolve",it's already fine as it is,do you expect it to have a battle royale aswell?
Open world, gear management, and levelling are not evolutions of the shooter genre - they are hybridization with other genres.
Although there is a progression system, it is relatively minor.
The purpose of Doom (2016) was to eschew many of the modern shooter tropes and return closer to a core shooter experience.
So yeah it has evolved - evolved past the tropes that many shooters include just to tick a marketing checkbox.
NO VR = NO BUY
And I hope we can choose our country to play as.
What a hipster. Grow up.
