DOOM

Bugged main menu
Hello everyone

I have reinstalled the game yesterday but I have a little issue with the game.

Now every time I launch the game all is fine until I get on the main menu; I've got the red animated screen with a "campaign" button on the left top of the screen however nothing happens when I click it.

So one can say that I'm totally stuck at the main menu, I tried to run the game as admin I have already verified the game's cache and since the game weighs 70Gb I'm not sure that I wanna uninstall it :o)

So if anyone knows what is this issue, well it would be nice :)

I'd say you've got to renew your firewall rules for doom, the firewall is blocking the game and can't connect to the servers because the the game version has changed because updated.

It seems that doom is authorized by my firewall, nevertheless I disabled it just to see and nope I doesn't work.

did you check both windows firewall and antivirus firewall ? failing that does your router also have a firewall, for me when this happens it is firewall problem.

I just checked and my main menu is past that point. While the game loads, it goes past several splash screens including the one with 'campaign' at the top left, but stops after that at a screen with 3 menus at the bottom across: multiplayer - campaign - snap maps. Large word "DOOM" above them.

Doesn't sound like your game is loading all the way?
Have you tried validating your cache files and making sure you are fully patched?

8888 qp : Actually the windows firewall is override by my antivirus firewall so I'll try further investigations but have not many hope on it :/

dogg: yes I'm sure the game is fully patched cause this is the second time I reinstall the game and I've also tried to validate the game cache files but nothing wrong there. So the game launches fine but after the second loading time I just get on this screen and nothing.

I think that it's not a hardware or driver problem, it's just like if the problem comes with the game itself, in fact the game was used to run fine before so this is really frustrating.

all I can say is completely remove doom from the firewal exceptions then when you start the game grant access or let it do it automatically, I've had the same error and thats how I resolved it.

One more thing to mention, I had a lot of problems with the Steam overlay and Doom. You could try disabling it if you run out of ideas :)

sry that its not helped, try going offline mode and starting the game with all firewalls dissabled and see if it gets past that screen, as I am sure its firewall related.

cool, now should be just a matter of finding what firewall is blocking it, and you're back in busines.
