What do you prefer: Keyboard or controller?

Are you a keyboard purist or do you like the laid back nature of the sticks?

Gonna replay Doom and gonna try controller this time around!

KB&M
Had a mouse go belly up on me and had to revert to an XBox Controller for a bit and it was hell and not the DOOM guy kind. DOOM is so much more precise and fast paced with a KB&M for me it's indisputable, my choice of HIDs. More of a KB&M convert than a purist, myself.

Ah, my bad. I'm not even really playing MP myself. But with mind controlled input, I would play MP, because the advantage would be so high, I wouldn't even require skill to win. :D

I actually completed my first playthrough of this game using my steam controller, but my second playthrough was M&KB and it was more enjoyable. Now I couldn't imagine using a xbox or PS4 controller on a fast paced fps like this because your movement and turn speed would be too restrictive, and at least with a steam controller you have track pads which can give you a similar feel to a mouse if you get good enough with it.

I personally could use either but M&KB just gives you more control and makes you feel more bada$$ once you pull off some crazy twitch reaction kill.

I also have a Steam Controller. Though oddly I find the track pads even worse than thumb sticks. They are certainly much better for games like Cities: Skylines that I also played. But for FPS games that does't seem to work for me. :/

Its not a myth. There are actual reasons why K&M beats controller for FPS. You don't seem to understand that things like time and precision can be measured and K&M has the fastest response time and is the most accurate over a larger range. I suppose on extreme high professional tournament level: Keyboard and Mouse might have advantage.

However: saying that i would still probably stick with controller as my preffered choice of play style.

In casual play it doesn't matter that much
but in just about every PvP shooter there is a massive gap between players that use Kb/m and those with controllers

Only time I prefer a controller is for third person shooters and racing games, smoother steering. Everything else kicks arse with mouse and keyboard.

I beat Knee-Deep in the Dead with a D-pad for moving, and shoulder buttons for the camera. It's all down to what you're used to from previous games. That being said, I'm never playing Doom that way ever again. :)
