DOOM
"Notice Loading Title Storage
Haven't been able to play this game in months. Every time I start it up, this screen has this notice and stays there. I've waited up to 10mins but gave up at this point (it's not loading anything). I've tried turning off my antivirus and WDefender to no avail.

Does anyone else have this problem or a solution? This game is huge and I would prefer not to spend a week on a reinstall.

Thanks,
HM

1. Internet connection works (I am making this post from the same router and machine as when I played prior)

3. Launching OpenGL version from Geforce Experience. (At first I thought it might be stuck in Vulkan)
4. Optimizing settings in Geforce Experience.
5. Leaving it alone for 2-3 hours.
6. Deleting my settings.

Thanks that have changed:

1. Windows updates.
2. Nvidia drivers
3. ??????

it might be a hardwhere prob, something going out or you need more free space?

I have over 400gb free space and my cpu seems to only be at 60-70% when running Doom ):

Quick google search tells, that people encountering that problem blame it on slow/bad internet connection, could that be your problem?

speed tests indicates a sturdy internet connection... I've looked through the google threads for this issue and haven't found a solution ): I still have a lot of campaign to play

In my particular case I had that issue a while back and it was annoying. This may or may not work for you or you maybe already aware of it. To get up and going till I could find a solution to this problem, which I still haven't I just put Steam in offline mode then played it offline till It get a fix. It has been a while now since I played it so maybe it is alright. I will have to go back and see. Not a good fix but at least I could play through the game.

sound like your HDD is dieing check see any kind of errors on HDD

It is most likely a network or connectivity issue. Check your router/modem settings and firewall exceptions.

I've got the same problem. left it going for 4 hours and it did nothing. ive tried re installing, deleting save data, deleting the entire folder, turning off firewall. everything... i just wanna kill some more hellspawn...

I just found a tempory solution. If you disconnect yourself from the internet, not just steam but the entire computer, the game skips that screen. You can then reconnect and itll work. bearing in mind that should that screen pop up again, disconnect the internet again.

I have also had this problem for months, very frustrating.

Port-forwarding on your router could help. Google ports used by doom.

disconnecting the internet as you suggested has got it working though, so thank you for a temporary solution for this. I tried adding DOOM to the firewall exceptions but that didn't work so will just have to stick to this method for now, cheers.

I will look into that now, cheers Skankhunt42

Solution for NVidia users: launch from GeForce Experience. This worked for me after the following failed: restart, verify files, disconnect net, reinstall, use vulkan/openGL.
