Can't unlock nightmare difficulty.

I've cleared the campaign on ultra-violence without too much trouble, but for whatever reason, I'm not able to play the campaign on nightmare or ultra-nightmare difficulties. I handle myself fairly well on ultra-nightmare in the arcade, so I dunno what's wrong.

Reloading my hard drive and re-downloading the game didn't do anything. Any thoughts?

You have to start a new campaign, you can't do it on a previous one I think

If it is written with red you can't select it - wait until it turns white.

The other difficulties don't even show up when I'm messing with game settings, though. The only difficulties listed are the first three.

Nightmare and Ultra Nightmare are always displayed red in the menu. Nightmare should be available even during the first playthrough - ultra nightmare requires you to reach Kadingir Sanctum on any other difficulty to unlock.

So it being on red doesn't mean it's not playable, it just asks you a "are you sure" question when you choose it.

Don't try to choose it in settings, choose it when you press "start a new game" or whatever it was. It won't show it there because on Nightmare you can't adjust the difficulty during gameplay like you can on easier ones.

It is because first 3 difficulties are changeable mid-game. If you enter Game settings before starting to play, you can adjust various things, including difficulty. However, if you quit settings, you get back to starting your Campaign, and there you can select the difficulty. I was joking in my previous post, are you sure they are locked? If it is highlighted with red, it is still selectable. It is not selectable only if there is a lock next to it.

I clicked to start a new game, but immediately went to settings instead of clicking "start game". That's a tad annoying and misleading. Thank you, my dudes.
