Argent D'Nur progression glitch
I made it to Argent D'Nur last night and unfortunately I seem to have triggered a glitch which is blocking my progress. I got the first 2 wraiths but the battle before the third one never seemed to complete even after killing all of the monsters. The fight music continued and the large doors wouldn't open (I looked around for any enemies that might still be alive but didn't find any). In addition to this my mission objective was listed as "no active objective" (!). Anyway, I then decided to try restarting the mission and the objective is now "no active objective" from the beginning of the mission. I then finished the fight for the first wraith and this time it got stuck there.
The only idea I have at the moment is to try is redoing the previous mission entirely. This would be pretty annoying so I was wondering if anyone has seen something like this before and has any ideas about how to fix it without redoing the previous level.

Well the problem is you can't go back and expect the game to go forward. It doesn't work that way. The best thing you can do is verify game files and maybe that will reset the map.

Should this fail, your only other choice is to go back to square and start over. Granted this sounds like alot of extra work and for some it is. So, consider this. You'll get back to where you are now in half the time and enjoy it more. Or you waste time tring to fix a possable corrupted file.

I'd go with starting over.

There are ways to overcome this.

1. Inspect the whole arena very thoroughly for stuck/unmoving enemies (mostly hanging Imps stuck on a wall). Look out thoroughly, since Imps have a similar coloration to the walls, tbh the entirety of the background at Argent d'Nur, but you can recognize the silhouette.

2. Kill yourself in-game which forces you to restart from latest checkpoint. I'm sure you have Rocket Launcher and/or Frag Grenades to do the job.

3. Restart from previous Mission. I know it will force you to play through the entire VEGA Central Processing level (which can be bugged easily too), but still much less setback than deleting the whole campaign and start from the beginning.

Imagine my rage when I didn't know this and experienced this on Ultra-Nightmare - and I didn't find the Imp. Also, 2nd and 3rd options don't work there - had to restart the whole game.

Thanks for the suggestions. I did try "restart from last checkpoint" (which can be done from a menu and doesn't require killing yourself, at least in the version I'm playing) but I didn't manage to successfully finish the third fight again after a few tries so I don't know if it would have worked. However I was still seeing the "no active objectives" message (which made me think it would still get stuck again anyway) in the map view, and this persisted after restarting the mission. That makes me think that whatever is wrong is not related to monsters being stuck / hidden. Unless someone else gives me any other ideas soon I'm afraid that retrying the VEGA central processing level is the only other thing I can think of at the moment, and there's no guarantee the same "no active objectives" problem won't rear its head again there too...

The game really doesn't rely itself on the active objectives in any way. They are just there to inform you what to do. The fights in D'Nur glitch out from time to time, sometimes an enemy might be stuck inside a wall or the player has progressed the level in a way that an enemy was left alive earlier in the stage end prevents the fight in progress from ending. But this isn't easily done on a normal playthrough.

Also there have been occasions where the last demons of the fight in progress won't spawn to the arena because there is something left alive beyond the arena you are at.

Though whenever either of the glitching happens loading a checkpoint fixes it so I am 98% sure that you would have been ok if you just managed to finish the fight. So don't go restarting missions before trying it.

Replaying Vega is not going to change anything. It will not advance you to map 13. Your continued game remains the same as when you left. Best is to try what the other guy said. Kill yourself off and restart the map. Only mix it up a bit, don't do things in the same order.

I tried killing myself and restarting the mission again and this time I was able to beat it successfully. The "no active objectives" thing was still there but seemed to be a red herring as 83kY said. Thanks for your suggestions.
BTW does killing yourself to restart from a checkpoint actually do something different from just selecting "restart from checkpoint" from the menu?

They have the same outcome. Both will bring you back to the latest reached checkpoint.
