Why did they reboot doom instead of a sequel to doom 3

Like i'm not upset but why did they reboot doom it didn't need a reboot i'm literally shaking and crying rn i just found out about this game and i hate it i hate reboots because doom 3 was the best game ever made and then they don't even make a sequel for it why

the slayer is said to be all the protagonists from all past doom games, according to eternal leaks. But we’ll find out soon.

Also doom 3 is the weakest “doom game” in the franchise, as many fans would tell you. A good game, just not a good doom game.

but it was released years later, has the same name as the original, and has basically the same story :( i think its a reboot
