That's only my personal opinion but who would want to remove the Pistol anyway? Upgraded and mastered it is stupidly powerful, it oneshots Imps and Possessed Soldiers (though the latter only by headshot) at any distance, and it is also hitscan, basically it can be used as a mini Gauss Cannon at early game. There are certain sections screaming for Pistol usage, for example the Imp bridge battle at level 05 Argent Tower.
You might start with a few less kills but It forces you up to speed a lot faster than starting with a wide shot or tracing weapon.
