Lots of guides are available here on Steam under the game's Guides tab. Here's a quick link to one that might help you find your way through the Foundry, as well as the other levels:

The proper order of events gives you two gore nests you can access without doing anything. The first is immediately to your left upon exiting the start corridor (turn left, then immediately left again -- you can see the room you're going to through the window while Vega is boring you with combat efficiency stuff). The second is at the bottom of the "pit" area, in front of the entrance and a little to the right.
Then you have to grab the yellow keycard (top level of the map, straight forward from the entrance, at the far end, behind the area with the blue locks) to access the third gore nest (top level, on your far right as you enter the level), which eventually leads to the blue keycard.
This gives you access to the fourth, and last, gore nest behind the blue locks, directly in front of the entrance and a bit to your left.
From there, head through the doors that open when the lockdown has ended (immediately left of the blue lock that's visible from the entrance) and it's pretty linear from there.
(Technically, you can do the gore nests in any order, but I think this is the intended order.)
Doom maps have always had a maze quality to them.
Use tab to show the maps. Blue areas you have been to gray you have not.
You have to do a lot of jumping in this level to get to places you have to go too.
You will probably die a few times jumping.
Look up and down for platforms to jump too. Explore.
Destroy the gore nests then that area goes off of lock down then search the area.
In battles keep moving shoot their heads and look for power ups towards the middle of the battle.
Collect the yellow, blue and red keys. For better weapons you need to find the Preador suits, complete some rune stone challenges and find at least 3 secrets per level. If you don't upgrade this way the levels are much harder.
I wouldn't mind a Doom-themed VN. It should be told from Daisy's perspective though, when Doomguy was still just a marine, and the world hadn't yet run into demon problems...
And then Daisy has to fight for her life against the hell invasion of earth, and ♥♥♥♥ gets really dark.
