Can I Run This Game on an AMD Radeon R7 M265 graphics card?
My computer meets (edit: some of the) recommended specs except my graphics card. When I compare my graphics card even to the minimum AMD one, it's not as good.

I am running Windows 10 64bit, i7-5500U, 8GB RAM, AMD Radeon R7 M265 graphics

Those of you who are more familiar with the game and graphics stuff, is this a case where I can turn the graphics down low and still enjoy the game?

Deus Ex Mankind Divided is probably the only more recent game I have tried playing where I had to turn everything off and the resolution down all the way for it to work at all. Most stuff works ok.

EDIT: tl;dr version is a few things suggested here worked to make the demo playable, I bought the game, installed it, entered the exact same settings as the demo, and the FPS dropped 50%. Vulkan crashed in Demo but then worked in actual game, brought FPS back up. Now playable.

Dang, even after uninstalling and reinstalling it's still crashing. Guess I'm screwed. For now at least.

Please give us your full system specs by going to Steam -> Click on help up there -> System information -> Cut and paste it here. I want to see some files version.

Tell us how big is the game for you. Library -> right click on DOOM -> properties -> local file -> Size at the top.

Well, I downloaded the Demo (thanks, wakeme) and tried just lowering the general video settings and giving it a shot. A lot of lag. So, I then when into Vulkan and changed the settings per directexperience's video posted above aaaaaaaaand it crashed on restart. Now it won't open at all without crashing.

I'm gonna try reinstalling and figuring it out but things are not looking good. -_-

Vulkan talk , please read ,

Everytime AMD installs a new Driver , it also installs a new version of Vulkan .
Look in your Control Panel un-installation window .
scroll to bottom to see Vulkans . i am guessing you have Many Vulkans
installed , just like i once had .

Right click on each of them and un-install Every one of them .
now you have No Vulkan .

Next go to the people who made Vulkan and get the lasted version
( 1054.0 )
( the SDK installs the SDK and the run-time )

i have been using Vulkan 1051,0 and it works too .

https://www.khronos.org
https://vulkan.lunarg.com/sdk/home

the sdk link goes straight to the Down Load page .

i only have one vulkan installed here ,...1051.0

GIve Vulkan another try .
i use "Medium" Virtual Texture Cache Size , in DOOM
Advanced settings .

Let's start with the obvious :)

Driver Date: 11 8 2016

Please download the latest drivers. Link below directly to the one you need.
http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/mobile?os=Windows%2010%20-%2064

Deinstall your current drivers with Windows ADD/REMOVE and reboot. Install latest drivers. Reboot. Try again. Cut and paste Steam system information again so i can see they were updated.

Ok I only had one Vulkan but it was 1.0.39.1 so I uninstalled that and then downloaded and installed the most recent one. Unfortunately this did not fix the problem and the game still crashed when I tried to open it.

That has happened to me before when windows update corrupted a driver for my graphics card but it shouldn't be happening now, I updated it yesterday. I will check once I can open the game again.

Does device manager not update drivers properly? I am 100% positive I updated my graphics card driver through there multiple times this year.

with OpenGL or Vulkan .

Do not use device manager to update your drivers. Only if you need to update 1 driver from a pack without an install. Like onboard audio or network drivers.

These days all the drivers come with an install and more than just 1 driver inside. Drivers now have programs and a lot of different drivers. PhysX, HD audio drivers, etc.

The proper procedure is.

1. Go to ADD/REMOVE programs.
2. Desinstall AMD display drivers.
3. Reboot.
4. Install latest drivers.
5. Reboot.

Np. Let's hope it was just a drivers problem.
