DOOM
Free DLCs? What?!
I am assuming that many people throughout the DOOM community paid a good amount of money just to get these DLCs, along with the people who spent money on the game's season pass last May. So why is it that after a year that people can now access all of the past paid DLC for no charge at all? What the hell is this about? At least let people who purchased the season pass, as well as the past DLC get a refund, since it just doesn't seem fair whatsoever to those who used their hard earned money to purchase these additions to the game. It's easy to see why people left this addon of DOOM, since every event within this game seems to eventually fail. As said before, for those who previously purchased the DLC like myself without purchasing the season pass, or even the people who bought the season pass as a whole, I believe that they should have the right to have some sort of refund. It just feels totally wrong to release this out of no where for completely free.

What kids these days don't realize is that you aren't buying "games" on steam, you're buying the "rights" to play those games. The money you spent went towards your ability to play the content before the people who didn't spend money; early access games do this all time, start out costing money then becoming free on release.
you're buying a license.
you have the legal right to your games even if steam shuts down.
this is one of the ways you can legally pirate software.

releasing games for free though is just good pr, and can lead to people buying other games from the publsher.
You do know what a license is, right? Hint: It's a "right" to use/do something

At the end of the day multiplayer content is useless unless others are playing. Value was actually added by releasing free content.
That's the problem with premium multiplayer content, regardless of how it's handled it doesn't hold value well at all. Realistically most MP games don't have great shelf lives, only the most popular maintain audiences longterm, and it's even worse for paid MP DLC.
Games have the fastest decrease among media. If you want something for investments, you should rather start to study art and collect paintings and sculptures.

IDK, I feel like that's more an artificially created situation due to the fact that most game developers/ publishers either stop supporting their older multiplayer games or push very hard for players to leave and buy the sequel. If there was ever a game developer who decided to make 1 game that they would indefinitely support and try to attract new players to, who knows how long it could last for? Of course, nothing like that would ever be done in the interest of profit.
Capitche? O.v

Its amazing how there will always be people complaining about sales and price drops. With the Rift being on a summer sale, being sold for 400 dollars or 450 Euro, a lot of people are making posts asking "where is my refund" and such, as if you are entitled to getting money back just because you could not wait for a sale or a price drop.

If you bought this 6-12 months ago, you then also got to be able to play this for 6-12 months longer than the people who now get it for free.

Look at Unity, it started out being sold for about a total of 4500 dollars if you wanted the Pro version of Unity with the Pro version of Android and iOS. Later all of that became free. But if you paid for it, you must have felt it was worth the price at the time.

In short, stop whining.
This.
No further arguement needed.

I also think a huge part of it is that most games dont have the polish or replayability that they use to.

Another is that a lot of games these days are watered down, rely too heavily on mp to make up for content or other silly nonsense like that.
Everyone here bought the game, but some of us paid for the DLC with time rather than money.

You paid for nothing. That's not cool.

I paid for Premium in BF4 and all of it's DLC was given away for free before the release of BF1. I'm not upset about it, it just expanded the potnetional playerbase of those DLC's far more.
You should be upset. You wasted money.

For a lot of us time is worth more than money.

Id say the dlcers got the better deal. Gimmeh back my past year!
i bought the game with the intention of playing the singleplayer

i tried the multiplayer after beating the campaign and thought it was kinda neat

i still didnt plan on buying the dlc, along with i think a majority of players, so making it free a year after release was probably the smartest option for id software
i think its becuse the balanceing with the dlc guns and before you be all like THEY SHOULD COMMIT SUICIDE or some ♥♥♥♥ lemme remind you they also have 2 games in the works wolfenstein 2 and quake champions so calm the ♥♥♥♥ down
cause multiplayer was dead
l4d costs money and now it's free on xmas. Let's give everyone else a refund boys amirite up top LOL EZ XD
if you paid money for DLC for the garbage unbalanced multi i have nothing but laughter to give you

Sounds like the majority of these people are too poor to pay for DLC. No wonder why they're cucks for it being free.

Wow, what an obnoxious post.
clearly john is the real cuck for buying dlc
