I need to choose the best laptop to play these games! Please, help me
I found two laptops with the same prices:
HP omen: GTX 1060 3gb vram, I5-8300h, 8gb ram 2666 mghz, 1T 7200 rpm
ACER Aspire 7: GTX 1050ti 4gb vram, I7-8750H, 12 gb ram 2400 mghz, 1T 5400 rpm

I would like to play : DOOM, MGS V -BOTH-, KILLING FLOOR 2 all of them in their max graphics settings with stable fps

https://youtu.be/w5HaZrgkLMU?t=44 this is the model that i found using the gtx 1060 6gb vram and i5-8300h, 8gb ram 2400 mghz and 1t hdd 5400 rpm -althought some friends told me that this model is very bad but idk-. My other question is if using a hp omen 15 (2018) gtx105ti 4gb vram i5-8300h 1thdd 7200 rpm and 8gb ram 2666 ghz could run doom -mgs vtoo- in its max graphic settings.
2° question is hp omen has a heat pipe in each side -one for the gpu and other for cpu- and acer aspire 7 has the two heat pipe together in one side -you can check it in this page- https://www.notebookcheck.net/Acer-Aspire-7-A715-7300HQ-GTX-1050-Laptop-Review.267346.0.html so my question is which of them has better cool system? I want to close this topic having better options in case if i couldn't find available the asus

Aspire 7 is worth getting if you are planning to be playing at less than 1080p. It should handle DOOM 900p or 720p just fine. 1050Ti struggles with 1080p on many recent games. HP Omen has the 1060 which should handle 1080p just fine, but you would have to upgrade the RAM soon.

oh i forgot to mention that hp omen with 1060 3gb vram is not available but instead of it i found that asus -is the same model in the video- but with a gtx 1060 6gb vram and i5-8300h, 8gb ram 2400 mghz. what can you tell me about the cool system, acer and hp omen have different heat pipes distribution -there is a link with a picture of that-

I do not really think heat pipes matter at all. If your laptop starts overheating, you can just buy a cooling pad. I got one for about 12 euros here.

1060 6GB? That is even better than the Omen

Yeah, i noticed that but i read a lot of reviews about that asus' model and they said it's too bad but i'm not sure. my second options was acer aspire 7 or hp omen (both with gtx1050 ti but my concernd is about how they can manage temperatures because they have different heat pipe distribution

I advise you a Razer Blade Base 2018 with a gforce 1060 max q and 6 core i 7 8th gen; runs like hell and costs 1600 - 1700 depending on the ssd and hdd or the refreshing rate of the monitor - with an external screen, works perfect!

I have this asus -which is being repaired due warranty- https://simple.ripley.com.pe/asus-laptop-fx504gm-e4185t-156-core-i5-1tb-8gb-6gb-2004214537329p but I noticed its cool system doesn't look so well than hp omen 15. I'd take the hp omen 15 if i could confirm that gtx 1050ti can run doom in ultra in 50 fps or more and mgs v the phantom pain and ground zeroes

Look. there is no point in taking a laptop with a 1050ti in it over a laptop with a 1060 in it. The 1060 is much faster. Even if the 1050 runs doom fine, if you are spending that kind of money you want a bit of future proofing. there are already games out that a 1050ti will struggle with, the gtx 1060 has no issues with any game at 1080p.

Just look at some benchmarks. Pug G for instance on max detail at 1080p get 66gps with the 1060, the 1050ri only gets 43, its playable, but why loose the performance if you can have the 1060

Player battleground unknown. 1060 = 66fps : 1050ti=43fps
GTA V 61fps : 43 fps
Fortnite 98fps : 70 fps
Battlefield 4 82fps : 55fps

Yes the cpu is important, but for games like this you are far better off with a faster gpu and a slightly slower cpu, rather than a faster cpu and a slower gpu, look at all the laptops with i7's in with intergrated gpus that cannot run games.

Here is doom running on the same cpu but with the two different gpu's. The 1060 is clearly the winner. the cpu is not even being slightly pushed, so a slower cpu wont see any noticalbe difference fps wise.

Again yes for this game the 1050 will do the job, however I assume you will be wanting to play future titles on it, in which case the 1060 will be the far better bet.

thanks for reply. Yeah, I know getting a better gpu could be better. So, I was thinking in 3 options but the problem of each of them is their cool system -specially with the tuf fx504 of asus and acer aspire 7- here they are: HP omen (gtx1050 ti i5-8300h 4gb vram, 8gb ram 2666 ghz, 1T hdd 7200 rpm), ASUS tuf fx504gm -which I have but now it's being repaired a few days (3) after buying it- (gtx1060 i5-8300h 6gb vram, 8gb ram 2400 ghz, 1T hdd 5400 rpm) and ACER aspire a715 (gtx 1050 ti i5-8750h 4gb vram, 12gb ram 2400 ghz, 1T hdd 5400 rpm). I compared their heat pipe distribution specially in acer and asus and they are too poor in comparison with the hp omen. So, It's like "performance or comfort". If the gtx1050ti of hp omen isn't enough to play mgs v and doom in ultra (45 fps as min.) maybe I could take the asus. but if gtx1050ti of hp omen could do that, so it would perfect for me -I'm planning get desktop in the future maybe at the end of year due now I'm in constant movement and I need a laptop-

I wouldn't get too caught up on what the heat distribution looks like. I have to repair them occasionally, and none of the "gaming laptops" are known for their durability over long periods of time.

Keep your laptop on a flat, stable surface such as a clean wooden table. Do not allow clutter to build up to the sides of or behind the laptop - and it will probably be fine.

Like anything, if you look after it you will have it for longer. If you treat it like crap, let it get filthy, or run it for long periods in a hot/humid environment, it will fail.

get 1060

Seriously, to get a strong gaming laptop, you have to invest serious cash.

You can get a solid gaming rig for like 800 - 900 €, depending what hardware you already have. Eg. you already have a big case or a screen. But you can get a rig for that money. You could then also get a non-gaming laptop that is fast enough for surfing and working but much, much, much cheaper than a gaming laptop.

In the end youd get a gaming rig and a laptop for like 1200 € or even less.

But a gaming laptop??

Damn.

Dood. Those things are expensive as hell.

Arent the 20XX series mobile coming soon? They were shown at CES. Even if you dont want one the other laptops are going to drop a bit in price.
Ceejay Jan 26, 2019 @ 7:25am
In all seriousness, you could underclock the 1060 (slow it down) to stop it overheating and it would still outperform an overclocked 1050ti.

So the 1060 is still the one to go for.

If your playing on a flat surface with nothing blocking the cooling and keeping vents dust free, then a laptop should work at its stock speed without overheating.

yeah, well I had that asus model (tuf fx504gm) but after 3 days I noticed some issues so I decided to take it to asus' service. It's stil lbeing repaired. In those days when I was testing the gpu (1060 6gbvram) in some games -like mgs v- I saw some fps drops and high temperatures (i use an external fan) in normal usage (like watch videos or office works). then I read that asus tuf fx504gm models only comes with 25 w in tdp. btw, I have the chance to change with other model -the same brand- or choose a different brand. but, as I said at the moment I just wanna play mgs v -it's my favorite game since 1- and doom. so, if a gtx 1050ti is enough to play them in ultra with playable fps it could be perfect. I'm afraid get another asus with the issue.
