Bittdefender is not a reputable company at all. With installing, you basically enter a subscription which is not explicity stated (or I overlooked it). Terrible product, terrible company.

Sounds like your antivirus is the real virus, ironic

anti-virus software causes more problems than it solves. Just uninstall it, because it's giving you "false positives" which means it identified a virus or malware type behaviour in a genuine product which is not malware or a virus.

Alternatively, see if there is a way to override the softweare and allow Doom to run anyway.

The last time I found anti-virus software useful was almost 20 years ago when windows was prone to message overlays spamming the system, and malware infecting the system during Windows Updates.

These days you just have to be careful what you click on e.g. stop going on porn sites, stop downloading torrents, stop clicking on bad links in emails, and stop installing all the bloatware and browser hijackers, and you won't need anti-virus software anyway.

I made the mistake of installing bitdefender to my system just for the trial version and it literally tried to take over eveything, it was as scary as malware. Uninstalled after less than 48 hours.
