Fix stutter
I just wanted to tell you guys a simple stutter fix: if you could run Doom 2016 on high settings before, but suddenly got stutter: go options and turn off razor chroma in mouse settings. :)

in most senarios it has everything to do with chroma, don't try to troll snake, you can't win, seeing as there is a truckload of evidence chroma is the problem most of the time.this person's problem has nothing to do with chroma

OMG, thank you, been looking for this info! How does this even happen?! 1080Ti - 32 GB RAM with Chroma support on = what feels like 20 FPS, hitching, stuttering, no matter the settings. Turn off Chroma and back up to 100+ FPS on max detail, smooth as butter.

Chroma support in-games has killed ever wanting another Razer product. Razer Synapse is basically malware (why do you need to steal my personal data just to have a green light on my keyboard?) but if you remove it you get punished by having your keyboard backlight just switch off every time you load a game.

The Deathadder was a good mouse (with a stupid name), but never again, Razer, never again. Plus they've gone all 'koolz gamer l33tz' marketing which just looks pathetic.

No problem ^^. I had the same problem before and searched through the forum and decided to create a new discussion so people can find this info quickly.

It doesn't matter if they own any Razer products. Doom enables it by default.

i bought a razer headset and i think it automatically turned chroma on.

I only have this issue with doom, but in overwatch it is fine.

Its sad that other people had negative experiences with razer, hopefully this discussion helps them run doom smoothly :)

Overwatch uses a custom Chroma implmentation that is heavily optimized by Blizzard and Razer.

Doom uses the generic .dlls that don't even support Corsair emulation, and don't look to have been updated or optimized since Razer first implemented Chroma - so a long damn time.

True but razer are trash, Not calling them trash calling the products and that SYNAPSE software trash, Ontop of failing to function correctly the thing needed to be online for profiles for a keyboard what the hell

I've never plugged razer into this current machine Chroma was on maybe combination of the Razer Trash software and Chroma do stupid things to your USB causing frame drops

They make *decent* peripherals.

I just don't find the build quality or software polish to be worth the hefty premium - I had 3 Deathadders die on me before I gave up. I had the old 7.1 headset (Tiamat? I don't remember) ♥♥♥♥ within 3 months. I just had a Blackwidow Ultimate crap after about 2 years. Synapse has been nothing but trouble.

Considering the longevity of their parts compared to the OEM stuff like Redragon available for 10-30% the cost, Razer just isn't worth it for peripherals except in a few fringe cases.

Holy crap. This actually FIXED my stuttering issue with the game! I'm running on a 1080Ti w/7700K and I couldn't for the life of me understand why the game was such a microstuttering mess. The only thing I own that has Razer Chroma stuff on it are my Kraken headphones. Thanks!

I had the same issue with razer kraken 7.1V2 chroma headset. But i am happy to hear that you can play the game as it was intended. ^^

I'm trying to figure out the exact setup that causes the issue, mainly out of curiosity. In my case, I have a Razer keyboard and mouse. I know, I know, but the mouse is actually pretty good so long as you don't use the Synapse software. Keyboard I would not recommend to anyone. I will probably be ditching both as soon as I figure out a suitable replacement. So in my case:

Razer Hardware: Keyboard/mouse
Synapse: Uninstalled
Doom with Chroma on: Unplayable mess
Doom with Chroma off: Running as intended
Side effects: Running any Chroma enabled game while not running Synapse kills keyboard/mouse lighting. Annoying on keyboard as I can no longer read the keys until I close the game and hold FN+F12 to turn up the keyboard backlight. This occasionally works in game too, though not with Doom.

I'm curious if people without Razer hardware, or those who do but are running Synapse still get the stuttering when Doom's Chroma support is on?

i think if you have any piece of razer tech it will automaticlly turn on,in my case i have a razer headset(yes i know i know i have a razer product i am "scum who likes trash",but i am planning to replace it soon anyway) and chroma was turned on for me when it was first released.and for a suitable replacment for a mouse,i would recomend G502,best mouse i've ever had
