Way to keep my keyboard rgb normal

So i tried to play doom this morning, i havent in a while so when my keyboard started flashing red and white on the bottom half i was like wtf then i found out it was a game setting, 10 mins of looking and i find the option to turn it off, then i have no light on my keyboard, my rooms dark so i need light and i could hardly make out the keys when it was flashing so is there a way i can keep my keyboard the way i have it
