Horizontal sensitivity issues - Xbox One controller
Hello guys,

I've recently bought Doom and I am struggling to play it with my xbox one controller. The horizontal sensitivity (even if set to 100) is unbearably slow, like, not playable at all. I've tried different controller layouts and nothing seems to work.

The most awkward part of it is when I hold the RB button it seems to work just fine, I've even recorded a video to show that, here's the link:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPOzT4wxnHU

At the beginning of the video you can see how slow it is and after I fire twice it's how the aim works when holding RB.

If you guys could help me out with this one, it'd be much appreciated, Im eager to play this game and I am stuck with it.

My xbox controller drivers are updated, as well as everything else.

Thanks!!

There's no reason to be sorry, I mean, although we didn't figure this out, I should thank you because you took your time to help me with this and I am grateful for that.
Thanks a lot man.

Are you using the original xbone dongle or some other bt receiver?

I read the controller can get finicky when not connected with the original dongle.

ye that could be reason. usualy console controller arent fully compatible to pc's without their own drivers or a dongle. in short they arent coded like a normal joystick and pc controller are handled like normal joysticks. that could also explain the weird behavior. its worth a try! or just buy a xbox controller for windows... there is a reason why there is a own version for pc ;)

I see, well, I chose this mobo for this exact reason (blutooth), either way, would it make any sense in buying this dongle even if the controller works just fine with other games?

i dont know... i use a wired 360 usb pc version for 30€
works like it should...
u should do some research with google and decide by urself ;)

but if it happend with doom it could also happen with every other upcoming modern game
i would just buy a pc controller...

I was just trying to play DOOM for the first time in a while with an Xbox 360 controller today and had exactly the same problem as Sandman.Cwb was having.

I think it has something to do with Steam's controller configurations. I had to adjust my controller using that so I could play Prey and I'm starting to think I shouldn't have bothered.

I went into Settings and then Controller Settings and unchecked both Xbox Configuration Support and Generic Gamepad Configuration Support.

I started up DOOM again and now it's working just fine.

Now this could be a fluke, but I suppose anything is worth a try, especially if you're still having this issue.

Hope this helps.

I can honestly say the game is playable with an XBox One controller, but is so crappy compared to a KB&M --recently lost another cheapo mouse waiting on a new one and tried the game with the controller and yuck! DOOM KB&M is a b-e-a-utiful thing. Am using a 3rd party XBox One controller (not official MS version) and it works as expected --blutooth issues seem odd, but stranger ♥♥♥♥ has happened so I'm not saying anything...

Take care and rip & tear!
