how to aim with a mouse?
the question might sound weird, but i have a bunch of problems.
arm aiming: i cannot use arm aiming. my arm lies on the table. since the skin and table surface are touching, i cannot move my arm more than my skin allows it. unless there is a device that can hold up my arm, i do not see a solution.

wrist aiming:
i can move my hand and fingers, but i have to choose a sensitivity.

if i pick a low one: i can aim accurately, but i cannot make fast movements.
additionally, i can barely aim up and down because the mouse bumps into the palm of my hand or i run out of finger. left/right is a bit less critical, but my range of motion is still very limited. during fights, i cannot do quick 180 degree turns. additonally, i have to lift my mouse very often.

if i pick a high sensitivity, my aiming isn't accurate.
anything in between is a combination of the two. there is no good setting.

is there any solution to this?

I don't know if you already fixed your issue but you should try putting something under your arm to remove the strain on your skin, as this is how I understand the situation. I am used to pretty low sens on all games and usually have to resort to a long swipe and occasionally raise my mouse once or twice to do a full 360 and have much freedom in doing so as I have a big mouse pad that lets my arm move freely without sticking to my sweaty skin (and I'm used to it).

If your problem is not finding a sweet spot between high and low sense you should just do a swipe from left to right and adjust your sens so that a full swipe is a full 360, and start the tweaking from there. It took me a few days of trial and error to find my preference so don't be afraid to change every few hours.

TLDR: to remove strain get a big mouse pad , wrap your arm in something or wear a sleeve for your lower arm so you can freely move. If sens is the problem turn a full swipe in to a 360 and trought trial and error find your sweetspot.

WTF

really???

you don't accept any solution. I thought you are a kid, so i looked at your account.

over 400 Games, over 14 years of service in steam...

and you don't know using a mouse...

are you f**king kidding us???

as you correctly guessed, the problem is not "i can't move my mouse at all" but "i perform not as good as i want to, and i am sure this is a mechanical problem"

things to try:

-Use a large mouse pad
-Get a gaming mouse (stick to 800 dpi or lower)
-put arm on the table, elbows and forearms, using it like a swivel (for large turns)
-use wrist to fine to aim
-stay with lower sensitivity but not like ridiculous low
-lift mouse when needed to make large turns but try to keep mouse centered on pad so your arm wouldn't be in the corner as you're shooting
-keep your reticule towards the general direction of targets so you would not need to make huge arm movements and can react faster

yes, this covers left+ right. how about up + down?

Yes he obviously is.

no, i am not. i really want to find a solution to improve my "up and down" aiming range.

this is a good idea.

I can move my mouse to the extremities of my screen without moving my arm at all and only moving my wrist a bit and so can most people who are not 90 and/or never used a mouse before. You have had a Seam account since 2004 and you cant use a mouse in a FPS? Not very likely.

lies your hand on the mouse?

I hold my mouse only with my annular finger/ring finger and my thumb. The forefinger and middle finger just stabilized a little but did not hold the mouse.

So i can push and pull the mouse over the half length of the mouse without moving my wrist.

hope you find a solution

it is the same for me. desktop usage is fine, but in shooters, this is a limiting factor.

same answer... 10cm is possible with ease.
if u are rly serious u rly should try a mouse pillow. its very nice to use if u put it under ur arm near the elbow!

something like this... its cheap and the best solution for ur issue

So when I need to transverse up and down I convert to claw grip and using just the tip of
all 5 fingers can move freely up or down. Try one of these, pretty damn good---->

Such a pointless post right here. If you cant use a mouse then that is your problem, there is no one else who can help you. People are actually trying to help you and you are just picking apart what they say and being very critical of any suggestions given to you. I suggest you sit up straight and simply get good.

THIS.

Use a controller if you are seem completely unable to use a mouse. It should be intuitive and of it isn't stop trying to force it an accept it's not for you.

It's as if your right handed and your trying to write right handed as that's what you hear your supposed to do. Just do what is natural and flows well for you and don't force something that is not natural for you!
