DOOM

For Windows Only?
I'm a Doom Fan since its inception with MS-DOS, But I do not understand how its creators icons of the underground gamer world continue with their exclusive support for the windows operating system.
I understand that other games much more commercial than this is dedicated to the platform windows, but Doom is a cult game and at minimum should have a port to linux.
Lords of IdSoftware please think about the linux world, that we also pay like the others.

I wouldn't say OpenGL and Vulkan were considered exclusive Windows support.

See the other threads. There are at least two major ones.
Yes see the other threads.
When you install Linux as your OS, you know going in that there is limited support. I will never understand why gamers install it considering W10 was free and is a great OS.

For me, it's because Denuvo doesn't exist there. I only bought Mankind Divided and Mad Max after the Denuvo-free Linux versions were released.

I understand but you are applying self imposed limits to your gaming options.

id is owned by Zenimax Studios with Bethesda being their publisher, and Bethesda and Zenimax don't seem interested in Linux at all. It also doesn't help that the guy who really headed the Linux support in the past for id software doesn't work there anymore, so there is a good chance that the people who work for id software don't care about linux either.

Either way, you really need to talk to Zenimax and/or Bethesda to get them to want to support Linux, cause they are the bosses of id software now.

I am aware that possibly there will be no turning back, so that there is a Linux version of Doom, but I think it should also be noted that not only W & M lives the man.
