DOOM
144 fps in-game but feels like 60hz?
Despite having a fully uncapped framerate in the game itself it still feels as if it's running at 60hz? I just upgraded to a 144hz monitor and had to move the game from my old, second monitor (60hz) to my new, primary monitor (144hz). Anyone have any ideas?

Maybe it because your monitor is 60hz ?

you have to change it to 144hz plus you need a dvi not hdmi

Is there an in-game option for refresh rate? I didn't see it when I looked. Also I'm over display port, so the physical connection itself is not the issue, 144hz works fine in every other game i've tried.

define "feels like". What does the monitor say the refresh rate actually is, and what frame rate is reported by an OSD?

HDMI and DVI are compatible, but an HDMI 2.0 cable and support (in the Graphics card and monitor) are required.. Or use displayport if available.

It feels like Overwatch when it's set to 1080p60hz instead of 1080p144hz, the frames are there but it still feels like my old sluggish monitor. I tried killing floor 2 immediately after and the difference in the refresh rate is very noticeable. I can only assume something in the id Tech engine is locking the game's refresh rate to 60 despite the fact that I'm getting well over 100 fps, if that's even possible.

Oh and to clarify, Windows confirms a 144 refresh rate, as does the monitor's osd. The monitor is for sure running at 144hz as evident in Windows prior to launching the game.

Try putting it in fullscreen instead of borderless windowed.

Tried all 3, but I've read that fullscreen and borderless are basically the same thing in this game. I also tried forcing full screen in launch options to no avail.

Perhaps it's working on my end as well and it's just not as noticeable as it is in other games? I swear even moving the mouse in the menus feels far choppier than it should.

Have you disabled vsync?

I have, although I just tested my 144hz monitor at 60hz in-game and I think the game was in fact running at 144hz, because when I switch back down to 60 it feels really bad. I guess I've already become so used to the 144 that I don't even notice it until I go back to 60, although I will say that in other engines such as Overwatch and Killing Floor 2 the 144hz feels far more noticeable. Thanks for the input guys.
