DOOM
How to Play Doom 93 on Steam (Doom 1993) (Thanks for all help!!!)
What i mean is i know how to add the things liek GZDoom but I want my Steam friends to see me play Doom not Doomsday e.g. (insert userneame here is now playing: Doom, (expaectation) (insert userneame here is now playing: Doomsday (possible reality)

Thanks to all your help ill probably use it if i dont get the steam version of it but thanks anyway!!!

I found something on the guides thing on Steam and it said (i think) that you need to have this thing called GZDOOM and i'm wondering how it works and what you need to do to let it show on the steam library and any links to Tutorials will be nice.

To use GZDoom all you need to do is copy the .wad file from Steam into GZDoom's directory. Works with all of them(Doom1/2/TNT/Plutonia), and even the Master Levels if you specify which ones to load via launch commands to GZ. No need to even have Steam running to play.

Edit: To have it show the GZDoom launcher in Steam, all you need to do is add it as a Non-Steam game, and point it to the .exe

It's certainly not necessesary. gzDoom is the most versitile platform, though development has largely halted in favor of the older zDoom. A lot of people would say to use the plain dosbox or Chocolate Doom. Also, lots of folks swear by Brutal Doom, but it's so over-the-top and full of shameless fanservice that it's unrecognizable as Doom.

As a guilty pleasure, I'm fond of jDoom aka. Doomsday. It sticks to the core Doom gameplay (adding purely optional mouselook and jumping) and adds full 3d polygons.

You don't need to the new doom installed to play the classic games, but you do need the old ones, as the ports (chocalate doom, etc.) need the original wads of the games to play them.

No...

You have to have either Ultimate Doom, Doom 2, or Final Doom.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/2300/DOOM_II/

Install Doomsday, download and decompress addons and drop them into a convenient folder. The launcher default searches the steam folder for the relevent wads. Load the addons and launch the desired game. If you want it to be like a modern shooter, dig through the options and add crosshair, enable mouselook and jump and disable aim assist. TBH, I prefer the older snowberry launcher, but the new version works fine.
