Maybe i'm totally lost but can't you install Steam on a MAC and buy Doom ?

Isnt Doom playable on a Mac already ? There are like 100 videos on youtube of peopel playing this game on a MAC.

Did they install Windows or are they running MAC OS ?

Well technically yea but I think he was asking about a native version, since dual booting is a given. Btw WINE is for linux not mac (unless I'm wrong)

Wine is available for Mac. Search for Crossover or Macports.
But I guess they are running Windows on the Mac with Bootcamp and Windows.
