Please let me know if this fix the problems.
My custom bindings followed mouse and keyboard with the exception of the triggers which will always be viewed by Steam as a controller specific input regardless of what function you assign them. I disabled the triggers, restarted Doom and it fully recognized a mouse/keyboard control scheme but the rune selection was still broken. So I went the reverse with a dedicate controller setup in Steam Input, restarted Doom and rune selection worked. I'l go back to my original Steam Deck bindings for the gyro and touch pad (as mouse) options but this solution for the glitch is not elegant.
Sucks that this glitch is still in-game in 2025.
