If you were complaining about the size however.
No problem for people with fast Internet I guess. Literally took me under 30 mins to download using 160 down 160 up Optik Fiber connection.
I've recently just upgraded my connection again though to 1Gb download speed and 150mbps up speed. It's groundbreaking @.@
At 128MB/s it takes 8.66 minutes to download. That is amazing :)
*yawn*
Another gamer stuck in 2007.
Say high to 1024x768 for me, would you?
Best solution is to split in 3 the game: SP, SM, MP.
That could save space on storage.
In my case I already did SP, I don't like to replay it or doing gymkhana and for SM I don't like it.
I only would use MP and I would save a lot of space.
Many games have separate launchers but here devs aren't that clever.
This has gone from a 50gig DL on release to a 78+gig DL, what the hell did they add to chunk 30 more gig's on to an alredy excessive install.
They need to start seperating the Multiplayer from the Campain game files (optional DL's) to make it more light weight.
I feel like I have to start buying an extra 100gb drive every time a new game gets released now & thats a scary thought £50 for a game and £50 for a hdd to put it on = £100 just for a damn game.
If I was to go and buy this in a shop I'd want them to give it to me preloaded on an SSD.
No can do. The MP, SP, and SnapMap all share assets and resources. Separating them would take a huge amount of effort, and.would only cut the download size for each component by 10-20%.
It would also make the download 2-3 times larger for anyone downloading the entire game, as they would have to download tons of duplicated assets.
End of copypasta.
Just for clarity, the extra 30gb is primarily related to SnapMap, which is mostly technically single player content.
BTW Doom is more eyecandy
There are two 6's so the only number that isn't a 6 is 4 + 2 = 6 , lol . 66.6 .Trying to justify why I put 666 instead of 4 because 666 sounds and looks cooler.This is killuminati math right here :)
Anyways thanks for the help , at least I didn't get the dlc.I don't play the multiplayer so I need to figure out how to get this game to launch without the future huge update.I have Verizon LSD 3/mb up and down :(
While I understand seperation of MP/SP is technicaly not viable on the compleated game I did say
I'm refering more to future release's by ID as Wolfenstine was of a simalar DL size to the launch file footprint but without multiplayer and as confirmed the 30gig is leans more to MP related content, anyone dling the game for the campain is forced to wait for that additional 30 before being able to experiance the game as it contains other fixes where as if it was seperated as additinal content if could be downloaded at another time.
It has probably alredy been stated that the MP was alredy seperate from the SP before launch as that was what the Beta was minus SnapMap and other features but when said features were added to the MP it required the majority of the SP files to function.
I'm hoping the devs can learn somthing from the strain this footprint has on some of us before the release of their next game 'Quake'.
