Try a full DDU driver wipe and install the latest drivers for your video card.
If that fails, your only option pretty much is to install the game on a faster disk, preferably an SSD.
I'm on the latest drivers, and 78gb is too big for one game on my ssd, sadly. Thanks anyway, man.
OP, you computer has aids. Time to reformat.
Not for me it doesn't. It drops to 35/40 whenever I get hit by enemies. On vulkan, its fine (hence my post). On windows 7, its fine on both apis. Therefore windows 10 is the problem in my case.

Then why would I be using an api that has steam overlay issues, and 2x the load times? For the fun of it? There is clearly a compatibility issue on my end between the game, api and windows.
On 7 its a flawless 60fps, but the number of incompatabilities on 7 keeps growing: arkham knight won't launch on laptops, dark souls's dsfix doesn't work and games that have to run in borderless aren't as smooth.
Might be fine for you, but its not for me. But thats neither here nor there.
There is a always a good possibility that it's the problem.
Doom doesnt like some. If you have any of them running it will make the game run like crap and in some case not even start.
I couldn't understand why all of a sudden I had a 20 seconds dead time before the loading screen actually started loading between one death and the next and this solved my issue, it was riva tuner. I disabled it for now and I'll stick to the ingame fps counter, no big deal. Game runs flawlessly even in vulkan but maybe that's because this is a two years old discussion and fixes were made. Thanks again anyway.
