Try ALT+TAB out of the game, go to the nvidia control panel, and manually force the refresh rate to 144Hz. After you apply, it might look like it doesn't work, but if you ALT+TAB back to the game it should be set at 144Hz.
Your G-Sync monitor should have an OSD option somewhere that indicates what the current refresh rate is so you could check that to verify whether it is in fact DOOM just setting it too low.
Yeah, it's locked in game too. And it didn't change the refresh rate of my monitor, when I go back to the desktop it's still 144hz.
Did it, it didn't fix it. And my refresh rate had not been changed in the control pannel, it was still set at 144Hz.
Tried it, it confirms that the refresh rate is 60Hz in game.
Thanks for your help, but unfortunately it still doesn't work. I even reinstalled the game, and the problem is still not fixed. This is ridiculous.
Vulkan is currently bugged with Gsync, per nVidia.
Glad you got it working at least. Like I said, I've had that happen sometimes where it just seems to pick the wrong refresh rate. I think it's just buggy display detection in the game.
Out of curiosity, in the nvidia control panel under "Manage 3D settings", do you have the "Preferred refresh rate" setting set to "Highest Available"? If not, make sure that is set. I think when you enable G-Sync it also changes that setting for you but still worth double checking.
It would be better though if they'd just fix the game to let you set the refresh rate explicitly along with the resolution.
So I just double checked and Vulkan + G-sync is working for me with current drivers (382.33) on Windows 10 CU. This is verified with nvidia G-sync indicator showing in-game, the monitor OSD showing G-Sync enabled, and the monitor live refresh rate updating along with fps in the game.
I believe it has also been working for the last few driver versions in fact. I think they may have added support or fixed whatever the issue was without announcing it, but it definitely works here.
with latest nvidia drivers run opengl, fullscreen with vsync off in game and everything should be fine.. unless you are on win10 lol, win 10 plus vulkan = headache
I can´t help you with that.
bloatfree win 7 plus opengl = flawless gaming.
now I know some folks will say I am totally wrong but for me I am right.
anyway I have zero problems on my rig and I mean zero, whereas those folks with the latest win10 crapware have constantly some issues and are reinstalling the OS every week.... lol
If it happens again where the game sets the monitor to 60Hz but when you ALT+TAB back to the nvidia control panel it still shows 144Hz, try this: First set the refresh rate in the control panel down to 60Hz (and apply), and then set it back up to 144Hz (and apply). That should force the refresh rate in the game to update.
I was just going by other threads in this forum, I don't have a Gsync panel.
That being said, I appreciate to correction!
Can't find anything about it. Knowing nVidia, it may have been fixed by accident.
