weird text

the text in game is all sorts of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up, its all just random lines and nonsence (trust me its not another language i know) but its messed up wondering if anyone else is dealing with the issue

Well i didnt know that. You didnt tell me you tried it 3 times with a different result for each one of them.

Can we continu with your full PC specs, Windows version and graphics card drivers version ?

The things popping in my head right now when i look at your screenshot :

- Drivers corruption
- OS problem
- Language settings for DOOM
- Regional settings for your OS
- GPU dying

Unless you give me more details about your system and when it started and what you were doing it will be hard for me to keep helping you.

This issue is completely isolated to DOOM

Does changing to Vulkan or going back to OpenGL does anything ?

I was having this issue for a while, not exactly sure what causes it, sometimes the game was fine and then other times when i loaded up my save, this would happen, looks like bad chinese.

Last night i changed from Vulkan back to OpenGL, opened my game and I didn't have the glitch. So possibly...

Just encountered the same issue. I took video of this messed up game with Shadowplay, and it looks like it's not just text is borked. The rest of the HUD, crosshair, and even sprites like muzzle flares and smoke have gone screwy. In fact, in one of the "classic map" areas, the floor and ceiling are missing. I've tried swapping from Vulkan to OpenGL, swapping which monitor I use, messing around with graphics (as much as I can without reading), and validating the game files on Steam. I'm gonna try reinstalling overnight and I'll let everyone know how it turns out.

UPDATE: Reinstalling the game has fixed the problem. Not the ideal solution, but it worked.
EDIT: Nevermind, it's started happening again. Still don't have a fix, sadly.

If anyone is still having this problem I fixed this by changing from Vulkan graphics API too Open GL.

Do this by going onto a campaign save file, then setting, then advanced and it should be the top option too change.

Is there another fix besides switching from Vulkan to Open GL? Are there any advantages to using Vulkan over Open GL?
