So they actually did release full modding tools for KCD. The problem is they did it two years after it released. There where some absouluty amazing MODS being worked on for KCD. Unfortunately due to loss in game popularity and the idea that a new KCD is being worked on they stopped making all of those MODS. You should actually be happy they are releasing the board game. It isnt about the board game its about raising funds for the new game to be made. So people who buy the board game, same as the soap, arnt normally buying it because they want it they are buying it to support the development of the second KCD.

What in the world do you mean the "Game is not finished"? Its been released for over three years and is perfectly complete. Thousand of people have spent hundreds and hundreds of hours playing this wonderful game. Now lets just assume you are talking about KCD 2 not being finished. First of all that game has not been officially announced. Secondly the sales of this board game and the sales of the soap goes towards funding the development of KCD 2. So your point is entirely invalid. Would you prefer them to beg for money for the development or would you prefer them to sell actual products to fund the development? I'm sorry you are so unhappy and uneducated that you feel the need to attack a multi million dollar video game developer with incoherent facts and false ideology.

I would definitely argue they are well off. Now compare them to Bethesda and they are not. Video games cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to produce. Any additional funds they raise is extremely helpful and beneficial to the development of the game. People are rich not because they fund every project with their own money but because they raise money and use the funds from many other people and means. I am not trying to argue with you or show any disrespect towards you I hope you understand that. I am simply stating these board games and soap products help support the funding of the game. That is it. I am not saying it'll fully fund it or anything like that, just that it helps with it. The developer has three major choices when deciding how to fund the new game. They can release products like the soap and board game thus assisting the funding of the new game without accruing debt of selling of their shares or adding any type of obligation to people to complete the game. They can partner with investors but that means less money in their pocket at release time and more obligation to please the investors and not make the game how they envisioned it. The third major option is to request crowd funding. The problem with crowd funding is it takes away the privilege of time for the game developer. People will want to see the game and the developer will have an obligation to provide it quickly since the crowd funders have supported it. This can cause a game being released too soon with lots of bugs, or cause the game to be released in a Beta stage. I agree the soap and board game is trash. Trust me I think that and would much rather have the game however I have enough of a business background to understand why they are doing what they are doing.
