It will be longer than 6-7 years even. The game was clearly at most in pre-production in July 2021 and it should be fairly obvious that they'll want to do an engine switch, an undertaking which is virtually certain to add multiple years to development time. In all likelihood, even if they secure the tens of millions of dollars necessary to fund the game, it's easily going to be the latter half of the decade, maybe even close to 2030 when (if) it releases.

Best case scenario in terms of development time? They've (somehow) been secretly developing the game in exactly the same engine, just pushing for a content sequel - in which case release would probably be more like 2024/2025.

Bro what are you smoking? KCD shipped in Feb 2018, they finished all DLC by mid 2019, KCD2 has been in in development for at least 3 full years now, with triple the amount of staff that worked on KCD1. No way was the game in "pre production" in July 2021. Honestly I'm expecting a release date in 2023, that will have been 5+ years. It's time, games, unless you're BGS or Rockstar, dont actually take 7 years to make.

just the other day i was thinking i really want a board game and than i realised no i don't
i want KCD2 not some crap just to make money off fans instead of just working on next game
now id understand if these were being released to help fund the next game but i really doubt its going towards it
