1.7.1/No rest for the wicked quest - Whistling/Monster Scream does not work
As the Title states, I´m stuck in the quest "No rest for the wicked". I am told to scare one of Felixs friends away (the lantern scare works) by immitating the scary dog from the town, but while I can whistle normal while outside of the "private Area" around Felixs camp, as soon as I enter the zone pressing X just does nothing anymore.

It does not call for the horse, but it also does not play the monster bark sound or display the cooldown Icon for the ability. Absolutely nothing happens until I leave the zone around the camp, at which point pressing X starts calling the horse again.

Has anyone encountered any similar issues or even a (non-lethal) workaround?







Here is some misc. information about my gameprogress that might be somehow related:

-I did all optional tasks in the questline and did the entiere quest multiple times to see if it was a one off bug. The bug allways appeared.
-I still use the starting horse Pebbels.
-I found the Dog right at the start of the quest by myself, went up to him and tried to interact with him (nothing was there to interact with). However, the task to learn how to bark is beeing completed successfully.
-I gave the flight potion (the one that is acting as a drug) to felix while teasing him to go spend the night at the grave in hopes of increasing the scare effect later on. However, he sits at the campfire normally (might just not be possible to make him trip)

Ok, so I removed my 2 outdated mods (cheat and weight mod) from the mod folder, and I could bark...

Already had problem with these outdated mod when the presentation screens of the DLC or the new dice rules were poping, I was unable to press Esc...

I did not have any mods active and did a game file scan for missing or damadged files, nothing changed :/

Hey, just letting you know that you can have as many mods as you like it will not matter. To get the "Animal call" to work you have to get close enough to the camp till you see the tresspassing symbol appear. Once you manage to do that it should work just fine. I hope I was not too late for offering this help :3

Hi, I got it to work by reinstalling the game a while ago. Some file must have been broken or something.

I killed the doggo on one drunken night on the town scaring villagers, so I had to find an alternative to learn the animal call. The Huntsman in Rattay can teach you it. Took me a while to figure out, if anyone else is having that issue.

THANK YOU SO MUCH. I sent Mutt back to the mill, then it kept calling my horse so I reloaded a different save. I thought this was a bug!
