Pestilence quest, Daniel Bug, and other things.
The quest itself becomes a pain in the♥♥♥♥♥because you are obligated to do somethings that are said to be optional and anything you do out of the order makes the quest bug. Like one time the quest bugged for me because it was night and many places I couldnt enter because it was considered trespassing.
The same bug of trespassing happens all the time with Daniel, the crazy one. First, his house is marked but you cant enter like the other ones, it doesnt matter the time of the day, it is locked and you need to break-in and risk getting caught. When you do enter you are immediatly considered to be trespassing, but if only Daniels sees you, nothing happens because he is stucked with his crazy behaviour, and only answers to prompts from the quest. Still, if a guard or someone sees you from the outside you committed a crime.

Other thing that I consider somewhat a bug is that you cant ask Nicodemus to trade if you need the herbs to do the cure after talking about the cure, which doesnt make any sense and makes you waste a lot of time going back saves (which are rare in this game) or even going to a far out herbalist. Other thing, he doesnt sell coal which is needed for the cure, and personally I think going to the other side of the map to steal from a coal camp or buy in rattay is absurd and unnecessary.

Coal is available on the shelf to the left of the alchemy bench. You have full access to it during this mission. But, yes the mission is way too bugged.

Last time I did this quest it was even more bugged than the last. Both Vincent and Daniel were sleeping and couldnt talk to them before going to Nicodemos and afterwards they were also sleeping and moaning stucked in this loop forever not having any other option of interaction with them except for pickpocketing.... seriously...
I had to throw an arrow near their beds for them to get up screaming "guard! Guard!" when they couldnt even see who threw the arrow. In one case I had to pay the bounty and the other not, but in both no one saw me, I had like level 20 of sneaking using black clothes. When they stopped screaming at the end of the city and started walking towards the city again I managed to talk to them and give the cure, finally. Bugged as hell.

same here, cannot talk to Daniel, can only pickpocket him
I will try causing some mischief to wake him up one more time, and afterwards I screw this quest, let them die, murder guard near the door and strongarm quest into completion

I managed to wake up Daniel and another idiotic npc that had only pickpocket as interaction by shooting an arrow near them from outside their room. One of them actually magically knew it was me who shot the arrow, even though I was completely cloaked, dark clothes, night, in the shadow and sneaking very high level (I dont remember the number right now, it was a long time ago, but it was the highest level possible for it). The other guy didnt noticed it was me, just went up and ran away screaming until he reached the end of the city like the other guy, and it was possible to talk to them while they came back to the city and stopped screaming and running.
Very annoying bug. I will give lots of coin to a modder to fix this.
This is very late, but what I did was, Daniel guy was sleeping on the 2nd floor that you have to climb the ladder to go to, crouch to his level, knock him out, pick his body up, drop him below the ladder (to ground floor level), wait till he wake up, he'll be sitting on the nearby bench when awake, then talk to him
