Poisoned pots
i have a few questions about poisoning pots

1. How effective is poisoning pots?
does the effect of the poison, lets say: Bane Potion: -110 health, effect the entire pot or is it dialed down, because it's such a large pot.
If so: does adding more poison add up to the effect?
2. how long does the pot stay poisoned?
only if it is eaten from a certain amount of times? forever? just one use?
3. Does dropping in more poison make it so, that it poisons the pot longer/harder/for more uses?
4. can i drop in an antidote to negate the poison?

Great questions! Sorry I don't have the answers but I've always wondered the same thing! I hope someone answers.

I've also wondered this. Unfortunately, I'll be of no help either, since in the end I started training stealth skills and sneak kills. After that, i trained archery and poisoning arrows, and after that, the sword.
Poisoning the pot seemed only like a good idea when both my bow and sword skills sucked. Since I was too busy training, i didnt bother with poisoning the food pot or the wine.

In hindsight, I'd say poisoning arrows is counter productive, since at low levels it's fairly easy to miss, and the quantity of arrows that get poisoned per a potion is only 5 at a time.

1. Very effective. You can kill a whole bandit camp with bane poison in their pot. Only downside is that the game for some reason despawns all the bodies except for the leader if you use the wait function to skip time until they eat in the morning so better don´t skip time and stay nearby in render distance of the bandits f you want all the loot.
2. No clue tbh. I assume it stays poisoned for a few ingame days or until you leave the area for a a while but I don´t know it for sure
3. I don´t think dropping in more poison does anything but again I don´t know it for sure. One bane poison is already enough to reliably kill everyone who eats from the pot so I think there is no point in dropping in more.
4. No idea. I have never tried this.

Agree with all points above. I only ever played the tourney once in my play throughs (really, why do it again?) and I poisoned the pot at the tourney campsite during the night. It affected everyone of the opponents and may have some funny consequences but YMMV.

1) you need to be very patient and do not leave the area.
2) no solid answer but assume until the player leaves and the area respawns
3) no
4) why?

1. if you wait long enough for them to eat it, and if they fail their saving throw, and if the food they are eating does not add more health than they lose from the slow poison tick, then they should eventually succumb, (although i find arrows and axe to be far faster)

2. i don't know, my guess would be some standard value of time (100s?) or based on potion duration, or zone reload, time passing, etc - i've never had the question, but this is easy to test - put a marigold potion in Theresa's pot, and keep trying it - you can use a regular poison potion in this test, just be sure to have a Marigold potion or 3 handy while u test

3. No - afaik, a pot can only have 1 effect - again - easy to test ;)

4. if my answer to 3 is correct, adding an Apple will change the pot's effect, thus negating the effect caused by the poison - and again, easy to test

now, since you know how to test them, i look forward to the answers

as to 4:
for example when Marius is captured by bandits.
I'd like to be able to poison them, and then eat from what is now MY pot.

I would guess, and as mentioned, putting something else in the pot may simply replace the last effect. Save before, then give a try! Simple...

Bring your own food. I'd recommend sausages. They are very nourishing and they last for several days.
