What does the [symbol] red X over armor pants mean? Next to my compass

My pants are at 100% durability/condition. There is no debuff/buff on the player page. Is it trying to tell me that I forgot to put my leg plate armor on?

Because I didnt... XD I'm poor still so I don't own any - but also I'm sneaking around, so I wouldn't even if I did own some.
