If so I'd be very intrigued to know.
Thanks for the clarification.
I think it's pretty unique in terms of a video game quest. Definitely not everyone's communion cup, but kudos to the devs for doing it. The Gregorian styled chants are so well done.
The first time I had a lockpick but couldnt break out because I had no skill in lockpicking at all and didnt know any other way at the time. But I did know the recipe for the lockpicking potion. By picking a flower from the gharden, one from a room and getting a spider web out of a book closet in the library I managed to have the ingredients for the potion to get out lol. No idea of it was intended by the makers but really loved that.
I've also had a hardcore run with the negative perks where I had the nightmare one triggered the very first night I got there and woke up in a sheep barn close by, so had to break back in through the back door to continue the monastery quest lol, needless to say I came back with some my stuff I wasnt allowed to take inside when joining the normal way.
Man, I love this game
Works for me. I love to hear how others enjoy playing the game.
I did the entire series of quests on my initial run. After that I decided to break in the night before and hide some weapons and lockpicks in a trunk in the basement. Then...... murder and burglary spree. Fun times.
On my 3rd play through I started doing that but only left dark, quiet clothes and potions. No weapons because there is already a dagger and no lock picks because there is already one behind the alter in the prayer room.
I stashed something slightly bigger than a dagger lol.
I pretended I was a Viking and this was an Irish monastery 500 years earlier..............
As a grad student I spent time on/off over 2 years in a Franciscan mission. It was truly a world unto itself, and that is EXACTLY what I felt again on playing the monastery quest in KCD, a world within itself, all the pettiness and in-fighting, little territories that you needed to navigate to get the job done, and as someone mentioned above -- claustrophobia.
One of the more influential brothers (who was a bit of bully to others) used to have his bed sheets ironed by the local staff because he needed them to be "smooth"...
Anyways, Warhorse nailed it, truthfully, to the point I suspect somebody on that team must have had experience themselves.
