Or your own village? I have this sitting in my library for years, since day 1 and I thought it was bad in the beginning. But I have noticed Im very curious ab. it now.

You get to build a town in one of the DLCs. You play as the son of a small town's blacksmith, so no kingdom building for you.

Kingdom no, village yes. Sort of. Provided you have the DLC 'From the Ashes'

I won't spoil things and ruin your experience but as the poster above said, just play the game now that it aroused your curiosity and see for yourself. Don't expect Sengoku Dynasty-style gameplay but it can be still very satisfying what the game offers :)

You can build your own village and become Bailiff. You can also get a pub and have the pub brew it's own beer. The beer gives you a boost when playing farkle.
