Multiple enemy targeting fixed? Haven't played in years.
TL;DR.
Can you aim at enemies better instead of toggle to switch now? I may be misremembering since it's been a while.

Last play was September 11, 2021 according to Steam.
I remember getting annoyed with the targeting for multiple opponents. I like fighting different enemies at once and having to strategize, but if I remember correctly, the targeting didn't let me switch between left and right. Only toggle to swap enemies Left to Right, or something like that. And using the mouse only targeted directions to aim, which is fine, but it was annoying that if an enemy came at me from the left, for example, aiming the mouse towards them only aimed at the current targeted enemy, not swap to another enemy.

I would have liked it if the cursor was visible, and depending on where I aimed at the enemy, same mechanic, but if I move the cursor towards another enemy, exiting the current target's body, it would swap to the other opponent. So if an opponent ran in front of them, it would essentially target the closer one since they blocked the current target anyways. It doesn't make much sense to be aiming for someone farther back, someone comes up at you, and you're still aiming for the farther back person.

I just want to see if it was changed, or if they allowed an option to swap opponents better. When I asked last time, I was told that wasn't a thing, and was told it was meant to be realistic that fighting multiple enemies is supposed to be challenging. But for me that wasn't the issue. The issue was that if they really wanted for realism, I should be able to decide who to attack at an instant, compared to, "Well it's the opponent to my left, so I need to toggle twice to aim at them. YAY, realism." (Obviously it's a game so I don't expect it to be too realistic. I'm just giving my response to their logic of 'realism' being the reason you couldn't aim better.)

the targeting system is as is, no change was done and no change is planned for kcd2. deal with it or die trying.

Shame. Thank you for confirming this.
I could still kill all the enemies, and would go to populated areas just to fight more harder numbers, it's just more annoying than fun when it's a mechanic blocking the fight, in my opinion.
Thanks again.

Still bad. I hate when 5 peasants with clubs are more dangerous than one full plated knight.

I'll add that it's still awful. Fighting multiple enemies in general is awful. Not because of difficulty, but because of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Master strikes randomly doing nothing against enemies, enemies running around in ridiculous fashion while you're locked on and can't switch and then you get grabbed and spun around at weird angles and have no idea wtf is going on, and of course sometimes the block button just refusing to register the parry from an enemy you aren't targeting. It's all still very frustrating.

The only tactics I use against 3+ enemies is constant back peddling to funnel them together, trying to keep it to 1 attacker directly in front when possible. Obviously you need Master Strike and move your mouse over to the correct side when anyone attacks you, seems to work for me most of the time even if it isn't the person in the reticle. If overwhelmed, sprinting backwards will pull you away from the current target and you can adjust. The system needs a lot of work but this helps me to beat most odds. It is awful when 7 villagers punk you early on in the game and there's no chance.

The only place where this combat system works properly is during the tourney and practice. There you only have one opponent and the animations actually work as it was intended. If there multiple targets the combat quickly falls apart because of the animations used. If an enemy is going to hit you, the character is pulled toward that NPC, despite you trying to hit another one at the same time. The game simply takes control over the player' movements and thus prevents players from doing what they want.

At the moment I just get the right clothes and go invisible, no or little armor needed. When engaged with a lot of enemies, run away and most of them will loose sight. This way you can pick them off one by one, using bow instead of melee weapons. They only work when you're fighting one or two opponents that aren't pulling on your character that often.

I like games where when I die, I just think "That was a great fight. Definitely could have done x or y, but that was on me."
This isn't one of those games, in my opinion. 1v1, sure, fun times.
But when another enemy is getting closer than the target, and I can't smoothly switch to the closer enemy because the game doesn't let me, I blame it mostly on mechanics. Sure I could just adapt, and I did. But it feels more like having to do unnecessary extra steps compared to streamlined combat.

Still a fun game, and had a good time. Just giving my feedback. I forgot about being spun around at weird angles until reading some comments. Dx Oof.

Agreed. On one hand, I like the idea that any enemy can be considered a threat. On the other, I don't like that the main reason for difficulty is mechanics, in my opinion.

If I had control over HOW I move in the fight, then it would be another story. Like how I fight in Mordhau or Chivalry. There I have to fight against 3 players at a time and still be able to block and hit who I choose to and not beeing stuck to an enemie that always moves one step back so you can't hit him while the other two beat you from the sides.
