Worth playing the 1st game before the 2nd one?
2nd game was highly recommended by a friend and I'm planning on playing it at some point, and wandering if the first game is just as good or worth playing? Or is it lacking a lot compare to the 2nd one?
I like RPG but medieval genre isn't my type and I'd want to play it if its REALLY good, I mostly care about immersion and replayability

Jokes aside - do yourself a favour and play KCD1 first

I'm not sure about a lot of things, but this I'm certain of

If you care about the story, the second game picks up immediately where the first one left off.

Combat changed a bit from first to second, but is essentially the same at its core.

I've heard many people started with 2 and then decided to come back for the first game.
Far as I'm concerned, 1 is definitely worth it. But I started with 1 and am waiting for 2 to download.

Why did your friend said about 1st game?
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

He didn't play it neither
I never played KCD I but was aware of it since it released. Then KCD II dropped and I watched the gameplay of it from TheRadBrad (I avoid reviews like the plague since so many are politically motivated). Liked what I saw, purchased KCD I and am now 24 hrs into it.

Sure the graphics doesn't look so good, and it's missing a lot of the new features but I am enjoying it. You get to understand the plot more and it will be an even bigger blast when I get into KCD II.
