Question about Wayfarer Knight

I think i accidentally killed him during a duel and i didnt want to reload a safe since it was a bit back, will he come back or is he gone for good? I feel bad since hes such a nice character

the faint-hearted knight is a roadside npc, not a story character

i don't ever recall seeing the wayfarer knight ever again after i either...

... get him to chase the damsel first, ...
... or fight him
... or just kill him

i've tried them all repeatedly without a difference in the game (just consider hiding the body)

again, just a roadside npc, and not a story character - and again, never seen after whataever the outcome of the interaction

the encounter with this guy was VEY helpful for me, gives me one of the best armor i weared for a long time in the game.
