steeple fight??
Did the devs really think their ♥♥♥♥ through? going through the battle obviously I have some wounds or am I suppose to sit and watch and stay safe? I bleed in the battle but cant bandage or driink anything. of course it autosaves in the steeple and I have a sliver of health left and just die in 10 seconds because no bandages...fr? I shouldn't have to scave scum to compensate for bad design, how was I suppose to know I should be sitting back and staying safe while my allies die because theres a staged fight I cant health before.

I had the same exact problem. It should heal you to full health before this fight, bad game design right here. I hope they learned a lot for the second game because there's lots of things in this game that can go wrong due to bad design.

If there was another wave of bandits instead of having to fight a single guy you'd be just as screwed - not really the games fault, rather looks like you weren't fighting good enough, or prepared enough, or did a poor job in scouting, sabotaging and reporting back...

what tripped me up was the archers, they phased into each other and the one I was targeting forced me into a 180 where the other promptle starting pounding me in the back. targeting sucks some times in close quarters everyone knows it, don't get me started on that hot mess. the mele fights were easy and probably could have taken 3 more waves. plenty of men left. the close quarters targeting is just unpolished end of story.

yeah same, I got in on the kick starter years ago and put it off because it wasn't polished, great game concept but I came back and its still sloppy...playable but not the glorious polished version it could be. lots of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ going on in it.
If Henry's done all the proper scouting, sabotaging and recruiting, all that's left is to sit back and enjoy the show.

Henry's poor prep for that skirmish is on the brains of the operation. No not Radzig, Radzig doesnt even know how to use a screen + kb + m

What don't I have? What does the other thread have to do with this?

As I said you probably did a poor job scouting, or are too low level for the way you approach the quest - If you burned the arrows, you wouldn't have that problem...you can still set the hay on fire to get them to come down...
Raiding the camp isn't hard when there are enough allies with Henry. Just listen what is said and do as told. There is only one thing you need to do, take care of the archers. This means don't engage in fights, only kill a few enemies. If you're bad at shooting arrows, try again later and make sure Henry can shoot properly and use good bow (long distance). With good armor it's near impossible to die because all the guards and especially Radzig will kill many enemies. Just keep your distance and do not stand in the middle of the group, only distract them so the others can do the killing.

There are several potions you can use to make it even easier if you're struggling with your health and the final duel. There is a small window of few seconds before the fight starts and you can open your inventory to change weapon/shield or drink potions. But main problem is most likely that you are doing this quest to early in the game. You don't need to maximize all combat skills but not having any at all doesn't help either.

I still would advise to not completely underestimate the quest and assume one should be able to make it no matter what...Either you scout and sabotage a lot, or you train and equip Henry up, or you really know the combat system well, or any combo of these factors - but with none of those - if you are i.e. new to the game and rush through the main quest you will hit a wall there...
People suck at the game and blame everything but themselves, yup, checks out.

You wouldn't have to be ''save scumming'' to avoid this scenario, it'd only require you to keep atleast 2 different savegames because we all know ♥♥♥♥ happens, such as corrupted files or a bad autosave skyrim style. It could also have been entirely avoided by properly scouting out the area and actually being good at the game so you can do w.e. you're trying to do.

I walk my HC Henry into full cuman or bandit camps and whoop them all, the combat isn't really that hard if you understand it.

Had a similar issue yesterday when doing that one, I was at half health for the fight and did not have enough sleep before starting that mission, as I went for it straight after scouting/sabotaging the place (scouting included killing everyone there, that took a while).

I did not know about the fight at the end...I was a bit surprised, as I thought that guy will come later in the story. I was sure that I will loose again and was very surprised then by how fast that fight was over and won. Not sure if its scripted or if it was the weapon I used (heavy warhammer), but the guy lost a lot of health every time I parried and countered.
I guess having at least medium skills in weapon and defense and knwoing how to use them is very important here....

Well, there you have it. What would you have done in the real world?

late to the show I already beat it, I just hung back and watched instead of oh you know..helping on the front line? but hey I thought I was suppose to fight in it didnt realize it was a watch only thing. Killed 10-15 people by stab cheesing on the flank and then whooped runts ass.

"Cheesing" and teamwork were the best way to stay alive and well in those days.
These people didn't view the world in videogame-tropes like 'cheesing'.
