[RESOLVED) Poor performance on GTX 1660 in 2025

I have played the game last year and it ran fine at 1080p on Medium-High srettings getting around 60-70 FPS in the open world and around 40-50 in Rattay.

I have started a new playthrough a few days ago in prep for KCD2 and the performance is absolutely horrible. I set the preset to Low and I now barely get 30 in the open and around 15-25 in Rattay. Frame time graph is awful, lots of stuttering and hick ups.

HD textures off in both cases.

Specs:
R5 3400G
GTX 1660 6 GB
16 GB RAM
NVME SSD
WIN 10

I noticed the kcd.log logs the GPU with "Dedicated video memory: 5966 MB" but then auto detects on game startup "Dedicated video memory: 1870 MB" and I'm not sure if it has something to do with bad game performance.

I have used DDU to clean install the latest 566.45 driver, I have Nvidia App installed but disabled the overlay (heard it could cause perf loss), latest Windows update and only have 6 mods that are just QoL mods. Tried a lot of different user.cfg files and none have really fixed the problem and all optimization mods seem to be gone from Nexus and / or are outdated. The only thing that's changed since last time I played is I now have a few DLCs that I bought during the Winter 2024 sale.

Not sure why the game is unplayable right now when it was fine just months ago on higher settings. Any suggestions or things I could try? More CFG files from people with the same GPU or some mods that are up to date with the latest game version?

EDIT: Issue has been resolved. Problem was a beta BIOS version. It made my GPU run at x1 3.0 PCIE instead of the regular x8 3.0 (since CPu has an iGPU).Reverted back to an older, non beta BIOS version and GPU-Z shows x8 lanes and game runs smoothly at a mix of Medium and High settings, getting 40-60 in Rattay and 70-90 outside. Will prob cap to to 60 to stop the stutters that sometimes happen.

havent experienced a problem, so i can only say, research and troubleshooting may be required.
Other's have had performance issues, and you may find a thread that has the right answers for you.
from what i've seen, people suggest changing the fullscreen/windowed mode option.
also, V-sync

Nexusmods has some performance enhancing mods, perhaps check those out.
