r u using some form of cloud saving ? (please don't)
interruption in ur network can cause this, or some other hardware fault
without cloud saving, the game saves are here:
C:\Users\[username}\Saved Games\kingdomcome\saves\[playline(n-1)]\
it is certainly possible for the user to select "new game" in your circumstance...
which could delete all saves from an existing game (playline)
but that would be from "user" selection and lack of understanding, not the game's fault
A new game starts a new profile, but you can still switch back to your other game and load those saves.
the wording the game provides when you die can be rather confusing
it seems to imply a sort of "(you died, new game, start over)", but i think "continue" is all that's needed at the moment after death to reload most recent save
however, if you follow the implication of "new game", there is certainly a "new game" option that will erase the data within the playline you select
there are pop-up warnings for this "new game, erase old data", and that's all the game can do to prevent mistakes but allow intent
but whether this is the cause or not - the game does not delete user files without the user instructing the deletion and granting permission
it's always a 2-step process, like : "are you sure?" [ Y/N ]
so, if files are missing from the file location, they were deleted by a user or by a hardware or other system problem
Could one of those saves have been an exit save? Those can only be loaded from the main menu or by choosing "continue" after dying.
some time ago, i started saving on multiple files, either because of a poorly timed save, where if i load it, there is no escaping imminent death, or a game that had an occasional corrupt save file bug, which would lock on loading it, and the only way to progress is to use a previous save. Am i the only one that does this?
Is it even possible to save over the same one with out it being maxed out? Every time you click "Save game" it just creates a new save file up to number 10. Then you can pick. So not having a single save is damn near impossible.
Tips? Your game is perma broken and you have to replay.
Haven't touched it since.
