Skalitz Castle goat?

The codex entry on the sack of Skalitz says that after being forced to delay the siege due to the storm, when they eventually stormed the castle they found nothing but a goat, and the codex entry notes "(This is also in the game)".

I thought to investigate this but there doesn't seem to be any way to get inside the castle walls before or after the prologue. I couldn't find any cheats that would help either, so.... is there actually a goat there?

After you wake up at Rattay mill, when you enter Rattay for the first time, you will first be stopped by a guard and then be let inside. As you enter, you will see Beran and his wife arguing. Listen in to their conversation and then speak to Beran. He will tell you how they escaped from the castle and how the Cumans found nothing but an old goat inside the next morning.

That is the context in which that information is 'in the game'. You get told about it by an NPC, but you can't find the actual goat as you cannot get into the castle without mods.

I think most games have some 'no clip' console command for players to escape when trapped by terrain, but I do not know if one exists for cryengine... Search.

The devs disabled a lot of the console commands, even with -devmode on. Mods can do this sort of thing though.

Trouble is i deleted any files I had and closed my nexus mods account years ago when they announced their collections system and announced they weren't going to let people delete their own files anymore. I didn't like them taking away creator control so I left the site. Trouble is, its still far and away the most popular modding site in spite of giving creators the finger....

In this particular case mods won't help much. You can get into Skalitz castle via beef jumping or using a mod, but you won't find anything there.
