Hah, I set almost everything on High and never use HD anything and it still run like @$$ - but it's on GTX 3070 which is fairly weak by today' standards, yet the game was released in 2018.

this game is not good optimized i got all on highest possible with Ryzen 7 5800x and 3080 and it good barely 100 fps
120 fps (locked it there), ultra, 4k, no problem, except two places where fps tanks for everyone.

Is Rattay one of the places you mentioned because my frame drop is very noticeable while i'm in the town.

yup, Rattay is one of the most demanding location in this game

Yeah, and the "ruined village" bandit camp. Really tanked the FPS before battle and somewhat during.
Was there today and it still drop fps, but really not that much. I assume it will be very noticeable when the new town is more built and populated..

In my case the evening mass in Monastery was the worst one, it even broke my save file and then my profile file. It's like the game tries to tell me that I've sinned a lot ;)

What's your settings, I mean is everything set to High or above?

In my case, everything is on High except for Post-Processing and Volumetric something, Obj distance on max, LOD and Vegetation draw distance slightly above mid. And I don't use any of the HD textures / sounds DLCs (unchecked in Steam).

If I walk to Prior and then turn around right before the Mass is over and they all start to move casting shades on volumetric shining floors - my FPS drop to minus 12, and that's exactly where my game corrupted first my save and after a while my profile.

Oh and I would advise against drinking Nighthawk potions during morning mass prayers - it might break your game as well.

Sliders on max, everything else very high except effects and textures on ultra.
Like you I have a rtx 3070, it seems to me that the cpu helps me a lot because after replacing the ryzen 3700x with the 5700x3d, my performance improved a lot.

Hmm, that's a very good point. Must be something with the old CPU for certain. Thank you, I'll check the game on another PC then.
9800X3D and 4090 player here. Rattay is horribly optimized. When I go into the town my framerate drops to 60fps and everyone else I get a constant 160FPS which is my max refresh rate.
Ryzen 7700X and 4070Ti Super here - in 4K res, in Rattay I get anywhere between 60 to 80. The whole game is badly optimized, and it's a well documented and known issue. The problem falls to the particular version of Cryengine that KCD is running, which is very badly optimized for multi core CPUs
I'm playing at max graphics on 4k apart from Shadows and Anti-aliasing with 120 FPS average.
-----> Shadows setting is turned down to 'High' because my CPU is bottlenecking.
With it at max graphics FPS drops significantly to below 50
-----> Anti-aliasing is set to 'SMAA 1x' because of the same CPU bottleneck, but it also looks way more crisp on this setting, on higher settings it comes off more blurry and tanks performance for nothing.

Sapphire Nitro 7900XTX (24 GB )
Ryzen 5 3600 @ 4.1 GHz
16 GB DDR4 3200 MHz
1 TB NVMe
