And thanks for answering in a civilized manner, I expected bashing of the mean kind for this :P
People are way too far from being perfect since always and will still be for forever, in that time-period then... Talking about quests in general in KCD, some had so much travelling and were so disappointing... then some shorter ones were great. Still remember my laugh with the Huntsman making the bird's call/noises in the "a bird in the hand'' quest hehe.
and strongly out of balance for seemingly minor mishaps, (such as if you happen to guess wrong and get jail time)
the easiest path through KCD is usually by using Persuasion or Bribery (typical for RPGs)
thus the near impossible difficulty of trying to Persuade the Custodian surprised me as well

It's one of the many reasons why this game's writing is the best. Though I understand how frustrating it is, game mechanically speaking, that you "try to do whatever is the morally correct thing to do" and then end up in jail for it by unexpected cutscenes with minimal choices, particularly during timed quests.
Objectively, Henry was able to get sick people better treatment, and it felt good to help them.
As for rewards for most of the missions in KCD, they tend to be underwhelming. Not all, but many. So in a way, it's not that big of a surprise to what happened. As the saying goes, "no good deed goes unpunished", apparently someone took it to heart and executed it in game. So kudos to the one who thought this up. Life is unfair, so they added a little unfairness to KCD
As with a couple of earlier replies, I don't feel this something to get offended over, even though i did feel slapped in the face when Johanka told Henry "he wasnt there" and even more so when he wound up jailed.
The rewards from quests in this game largely come down to seeing how the NPCs interact and what their "fates" are. Most of it is just money for Henry, but for the player the true reward is the writing and completionist feeling. And some of this money is very useful in the "kill no one in the game" achievement run, since you can't just go kill bandits or Cumans to solve all your problems.
I started with the DLC...and broke it off in the mine. The silver bag couldn't be picked up, but I only noticed this AFTER the painful 20min to get out of the mine again. On steam this DLC is very badly reviewed, so I stopped and continued with Henry. I liked the first hour or so, the chores, doing a lot of stuff FOR people, defending Bianca from the "wolf" etc, but the mine really was frustrating. Maybe it sounds dumb, but playing a "strong" women in KCD that is not obnoxious or mean as hell was a fresh breeze :)
1. It forces you to play as an accurate woman in medieval times, not as Henry which is very different
2. It forces you into a 2+ hour segment that cannot be skipped or cancelled once started
3. Most players accidentally start it without realizing what they're doing, especially when they just started the game and are clicking every option that appears when they talk to NPCs
I've done it many times and never encountered any particular bugs, including not being able to pick up the pouch. It's great, and definitely one of the best DLCs any game has ever made.
I should have had an option to give the piece of crap a real reason to throw me in jail. ;)
(psst: Bard potion can help)
it's a funny consequence, and was very unexpected when it happened to me...
... but the game is like that
Otherwise, I think Johanka is a worthless b*tch. She asks for help, but then scolds Henry for going off and getting the ingredients/information/supplies necessary to help (even if I don't do anything else but those tasks between talking to her and returning with those things). She scolds Henry when I try to ask if there's anything else he can do. She scolds Henry even when he comes to report that everything is taken care of. She just scolds, scolds, scolds and is generally an insufferable cur.
And because of that, I've refused to even touch Johanka's part of the Women's Lot DLC. Screw her. Let her get burned at the stake for heresy. Henry's had his own problems to deal with, trying to stop more raids and destruction. He doesn't need her crap on top of it.
