I've died over 20 times so far, first having to sneak into the mine for the silver, with the sneaking mechanics not working properly(?) and constantly getting spotted by for example two dudes all guides/walkthroughs/videos show I should be able to sneak behind no problem.

And now I have to get out of the village, while I'm getting spotted from 50 meters away by dudes I can't outrun, having to restart back in the Mill every time.

This is some of the worst time I've had in a game for a long time.

I've spend more time stuck in this ♥♥♥♥ DLC than I've played the main game by now, and I'm guessing I'm not going to actually get anything out of it either, besides some Theresa story nonsense that I stopped caring about 10 deaths in.

You need to stop thinking about what works in computer games and rethink basic infiltration tactics.

If you're careful about when you move you'll be pretty hard to see if you're sneaking along a stream bed.

If you can't see them, odds are they can't see you either.

Use your ears.

The trick is not to think what you would do in other games, try instead thinking what would you do in real life, if you were there? Manage your time, your gear, your tactics. They sleep, they can be poisoned, they will hear you if you wear armor and spot you if you wear colorful gear and clothing.

oh yeah, that was quite the surprise when Skalitz was invaded and a very different game play ensued. survive
died countless times just trying to figure how to escape.
what finally worked for me was looking at the map and trying to figure the quickest way to forested area to hide, which imo is the to the NW of the mill.

Step 1: where only clothes that lower Theresa visibility and noise.
Step 2: i had a dagger in my inventory so i snuck behind the first soldier that entered the house and was poking around in the trunk and was able to silently put him down. loot him and the trunk
Step 3; climb in the loft and loot the trunk there and wait for the cumans to enter. 1 will go in the livingroom are while two will stay near the door facing away from the loft.( I have successfully justmped down from the loft and back stabbed another soldier here, but that didnt help any with the escape plan)
Step 4: Climb/jump down from the loft, sprint outside past the Cumans. Turn left and cross the bridge then head straight for the bushes to the NW, and when you see the combat symbol change from yellow to silver, duck into some bushes, crouch and hide. If done correctly the Cuman's should cease pursuit.
Step 5: sneak into the mine(on the map it's the second one from the top/North) and save.
Step 6: Either wait for a Cuman to come and gaurd the mine and back stab him, or get out of there before hand and sneak among the bushes in the southerly direction.
Step 7: watch out for random Cuman patrols, Jump into the creek and sneak around the East side of the mining camp keeping out of view with as much distance as possible with any Cuman's you see.
Step 8 watch out for the Cuman that's posted in a security checkpoint loocking shed at the east north east entrance to the mining camp, get as far away as possible from him when crossing the road. At this point Theresa should be in the clear to find the southern mine entrance.

You can also climb through the window directly beside the entry door.

it is tricky to get the timing right for Theresa's initial escape

the game seems to wants us to kill the cuman inside kneeling at the trunk, but it's a professional soldier and Theresa is a young girl - maybe rely on stealth and sneak out through the window that lead to the (garage)

even knowing the route, it still took me 4 or 5 tries to get the timing right

(the game is sluggish to respond and glitchy af, which just adds to the frustration)

and then, i only managed to succeed getting away because i read an easy solution that works well - from the garage, crouch and get into the stream and follow it to the bridge

getting past the fort on the field side is easier, but may take a few tries

for this and many other reasons, i dislike the limited save system - so i installed this mod:

note1 - it is very easy to be seen if your "Stealth" skill is low and you will absolutely be spotted if you don't "crouch" (which enables the use of "Stealth")

note2 - player character can develop "Stealth" by doing illegal things without being caught, which is generally "Lockpicking" and "Pickpocketing" ("sneaking" in restricted area does also work to some extent)

note3 - both Henry and Theresa have access to Lockpicks during Skalitz prologue timeframe - both need to speak with Fritz

Rule No. 1: Assume any given DLC is a terrible hack job and don't play it. If you do decide to play it for whatever reason, expect it to be bad and don't complain if it actually is (it's the whole point),

I finally managed to get through it, but it kinda soured my desire to continue playing the rest, the actual, game.

To recap, and to possibly add a "searchable" "answer" for other people in the future;
For the Family Silver Mine part, as said, I kept getting spotted by the two guys that everyone in every other guide/video was able to just sneak by. In the end, in anger after a reload, I just randomly shot some arrows in their direction and somehow that caused the both of them to run "away in fear", towards me, while completely ignoring me, allowing me to finally get passed them. The rest of the mission was done as per all the guides and such I'd seen by then; simply following the correct route, picking up the silver, then jumping onto the rocks and bridge, first visiting the Easter Egg Location and then leaving the mine by the unguarded "jump down" exit.

For the Escape part, I literally have no strategy other than that I tried it dozens and dozens of times, in all kinds of different ways, sometimes running, sometimes killing, sometimes evading, but mostly trying to combine all three things, and eventually I somehow ended up being able to just sprint in just the right time and place, losing guys who were chasing me at just the right time, to get through the camp and into the field behind the camp. Of course having long given up on trying to scout the secondary locations as well.

Loot the sword from the first guy you stealth kill. You can still use it even though you don't have the stats. Just run straight to the objective. The dog keeps an enemy busy so you can take on all the groups of 2 easily.

The bow carried me through most of the dlc. Only real trouble i had was finding the water later on since I didn't realise it was inside the mine.

Sure was a pain during the night on harcore though.

main game is much better imo. But early game be careful trying to take on multiple assailants before skilling up combat skills and whatnot or it will be almost as bad as Woman's Lot.\

Also... Easter Egg? those are fun to find. I must have missed it.

You need to spend loads of time on day one down at the archery range grinding as much as possible because archery is the only way that Teresa has any chance of taking down an armoured Cuman.
