Low FPS
I tried all max settings with 1080p and I'm very confused because this guy on the video I time stamped, somehow have more FPS than me; around 30-40. The game won't utilize my GPU to fullest and stuck at 60% usage when entering cities. But somehow use 80-90% when near the forests. My other games could run 100% on both GPU and CPU without any problem. So I'm certain it's not any bs bottleneck going on here.

My specs:
CPU-11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11700F
GPU-Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 8GB
RAM-32GB
Game installed on-WD Green 2.5 SSD

I tried turning on hardware accelerated gpu scheduling thing and it made no difference though. Does anyone have any suggestion for me? I can't really see what I'm missing here.

Note: I changed from Win10 to Win11, changed my GPU from 1080 Ti to current one and added current SSD, all of these from somewhere between Dec last year and Feb this year. My CPU is about 2-3 years old.(I couldn't remember the exact date for all of these.)

CPU/Engine bottleneck, in the video the person is running DDR5 and a newer CPU with better single threaded performance.

In cities it is worse because the CPU also has to compute NPCs, you will have to try different settings in order to maximise GPU use.

Well, I did mention that my other games work fine. I'm pretty sure it's not CPU bottleneck. Better graphic game that use CRYENGINE like Hunt;Showdown runs fine for me. The game itself(KCD) isn't even heavy on RAM. I'm no computer expert but I'm really not convinced that i5 CPU is going to be any better than i7.
Fire up the console and put in:
sys_MaxFPS = 90

I never capped my FPS. I don't know how this command would help tbh.
It's just when I enter the cities, the game seems to capped my both CPU and GPU usage,

The point is that the engine caps FPS at a lower level ;)

Don't know what this "lower level" you're meaning. I know that it's the game engine problem but I really wanted to know how the guy in the clip managed to make his game use all his GPU.
Dunno, don't care.

All I'm suggesting is that a ton of games cap the FPS at 60FPS which to me means stuttering.

At some 90 FPS I deem everything fluid. But to each his own.
And I limit it at that because there's no point in going further because it just uses more CPU/GPU power so I limit it at that.

If a game however is hardcoded at 60FPS - I find ways to circumvent it and in this case, it's the suggested console command.

Sometimes it's an ini file, sometimes a console command. Simple as that - I just like to play with a fluid screen, not half-assed ♥♥♥♥ like 60FPS

I really can't see where you're going, but it my case, when I enter cities, the game just decided to cap the usage of my CPU and GPU and it couldn't even reach 50 fps.
Try different anti-aliasing settings - that ♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥ up most games

That whole SMAA is causing nothing but trouble

I suppose there's nothing I can do, thanks for the replies anyway.
Game runs like ♥♥♥♥ here as well for no reason - played around with the settings and found a consensus where it runs smoothly.

It actually ran better on my old 2080 setup than on m 4090 setup - so - just find the setting which is the culprit.

And, as said, FPS may be capped but you can uncap it with that command to whatever you deem smooth. For me it's 90, for others it's 120 or whatever.
PS: whoever claimed that the human eye runs on 30FPS is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nuts :D

It is absolutely a CPU bottleneck in the engine and design of the game, it doesn't matter how other games run- you asked about KCD.

If you had faster memory and a faster CPU with better single core speed you would get better performance, proven by the the video you posted as an example.

These are the facts.

The game didn't cap anything, you have a CPU/RAM bottleneck which is reducing performance.

Edit: Turn down object distance, LOD and veg draw distance- this will reduce the bottleneck even on my system these reduce GPU use and I don't have a shy PC.

Just to add that the single core speed of the i5 14400f is better than your i7 11700f, which means better single core speed for this game results in better performance, further proving the point.

My Helldivers2, Hunt:Showdown, NMRIH2 and even Ready or Not use 100% and 50-60% CPU. Even NMRIH2 that is so messed up about optimization still use 100% of my GPU and work as it's supposed to. If my CPU is a problem then why other games have no issues but this game has? I'm no expert but I searched about this, Isn't i7 CPU has offered better performances than i5? Btw, the game isn't heavy on RAM. I can play Tarkov on every map. I'm not convinced that i7 with lower clock speed would be outclassed by i5 with high clock speed to be honest. I think it's a game that has problem with its own engine.
