Band of (useless) Bastards Final Battle
This battle seems excessively hard. Kuno dies too quickly most of the time and the few times we managed to win my allies turn on me, assumed friendly fire. If i'm careful we lose, If I fight hard there's friendly fire. I've tried potions with no effect. I'm about ready to just accept defeat.

It's like they all turned into useless bastards for the final battle and I'm supposed to do all the work. They may as well get out of my way if that's the case. One of them, Dangler I think, doesn't even have a weapon and is just swinging fists.

It took me 15 tries to save everyone. The worst part is that none of them ever learned to use bandages. Maybe it might have been helpful to drop bandages around them right before the final battle so they at least had some - never tested.

Kuno died countless times from bleeding. He even managed to proclaim victory and invited everyone for a drink (not in a tavern). And probably due to the severity of his wounds, he never bothered to loot the 6K Grochen he was so tempted to acquire.

Three bastards caused me the most frustration: Kuno (who is a bit weak for a leader), Dangler (who literally had no armor and could die after just a few hits), and Jan Bearman, that foolish bastard somehow lost both his weapon and shield, perhaps due to the bugged fistfight sparring we had earlier. For some crazy reason, he always attacked my targets, while I took down the two weakest enemies from behind before confronting the Lord of the House of Zoul. The enemies couldn’t stand Jan Bearman hitting them with his bare hands even once, I had to literally jump in between Jan and pissed enemies to eat their swords with my own belly.

I eventually managed to win a fight, only for Kuno to die on his horse after just ten steps on his way back to the camp.
Another time, Dangler died while riding his horse, midway to the camp. Poor guy had so much dignity and no bandages, so he preferred to die like a real man, on his horse.

A few times after our flawless victory, Jan Bearman, still in battle mode, somehow remembered that we were sparring. The moment he hit me just once, every other enemy attacked me too, except for Kuno, who always fought with a sword.
So, during another nearly perfect battle where I managed to kill six enemies in a row and then the boss in just a few hits, everything seemed great. Kuno proclaimed his victory, and then Jan Bearman suddenly ran toward me. I quickly ran away into the bushes, defeated Jan, and ensured that everyone returned safely to camp. Jan had no hard feelings. Therefore, I would advise against sparring with him, as it might have some unforeseen consequences for poor Jan's conscience.

I truly loathe this DLC. After all my hard work no ONE except for Kuno had nothing new to say to me, not even Dangler with his secret, for some reason I was certain to learn the last bits of their lives after the battle, that's how it usually done in other games and books, the player / reader gets some closure, but not this time - no money, no honey or so they say.

This is my last playthrough and if I ever attempt to play it again, they can all perish. Jackey will die for sure, he started it all.

Yeah, in the DLC you can totally see all the engine and script jank - for sure we're not the only ones encountering this and it says a lot that the devs never encountered this or bothered to fix their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ code.

For me, half of them inc. Kuno were fighting barehanded, I suspect that pickpocketing the ring from the Bacchus quest or them getting knocked down or unconscious has something to do with it. They are absolutely worthless without the plot armor that protects them from dying and they just fall unconscious like in earlier quests, but also keep in mind that if you're running the Bastards quests back to back, they may still be spongy from the battle the day before as the engine treats healing in real time and is slow to heal NPCs.

So what I did was spike the food pots (both of them) with healing potions including the chamomile brew after A Tight Spot, and on the day of doing the final quest I spiked the food before sunrise with EVERY buff potion (aqua, embrocation, rage, buck's blood, etc.; I forgot the rest, but it's like 6 or 7 buff potions), then waited until like 9 am (no wait or time skip) to make sure everyone had breakfast and the potions were active - this helped them not get killed in the first 15 seconds, but you STILL need to be quick and kill the enemies. After the last enemy fell, they turned hostile (I suspect the dog goes into auto attack or something, again, jank code) but you can reset their aggression by getting away from them and then they'll get on their horses and ride back to camp. You can then go back to where the battle took place and loot the pieces of equipment you want, provided you didn't move too far to let the items despawn.

I manage to save all their sorry asses and didn't even get a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thanks.

Did you jack their equipment? I think that's the only way they can lose armor.
And yeah, the game, for the most part, leaves you empty and unwhole with NPCs having absolutely no reaction or nothing to say despite the huge plot progressions. Hell, they did not even voice Stephan for the farkle minigame.
My allies keep attacking me afterwards. How am I supposed to complete this quest?
Get there in time before they get up. Put strength and health potions in the pots. May not work at all but it is supposed to have a positive effect. During the battle try and engage first so enemies focus more on Henry. That way the others have higher chance to survive. Did not have any issues with their quests at all. And if some die, tough luck for them.
the best solution i found for this fight was to have Henry Tank the battle

full gear, "the" 3 potions, and just keep blocking and jabbing now and then to draw aggro from *all* enemies

this allows "the bastards" to attack them all from behind, and it is the only way i've managed to keep them *all* alive

...and keeping those dumb bastards alive does seem to be the hardest part of the challenge

Really? My first playthrough of this DLC, I failed the persuasion aspect to get the Band not to accept the bribe and did a 1v1 champion fight. Yeah, you lose Radzig's allies this way, but it's easy to win the champion fight if you're not stupid about it going in with zero skill levels. The point is to stop the bandit raids, not save everybody.

Radzig saved Kuno's life once. That doesn't mean the guy should be his indentured servant for the rest of his life. Kuno's paid his due. Pay him fairly or let him go.

Do not care about that guys, care about winning the battle. I suspect they are not suppose to live past that battle that is why they will attack you. As long as you win that battle you completed quest successfully.

At least Kuno is supposed to be alive (he has cynical dialogue about death of his comrades after), but he can also die and it's ok for script too.

They will attack you, if you either hit them in battle or loot dead body of their comrades. It's the same as with Hanekin's Hare band.

I never really liked friendly NPCs that can die in any game tbh. They always die, and you have to reload for best outcome, which is tedious.
it only took me a few tries. try to aggro enemies away from kuno if you can. if 3 of them or so are following you kuno and the gang will easily deal with the remainders and come help you. they will hit the enemy from their back while the enemies are trying to follow/attack you. trying to attack enemies while they're fighting the gang members sometimes causes friendly fire.

I did this quest twice, Kuno died both times but quest was completed successfely, so looks like it does not matter if he survive or not.
I ended up starting a previous save and put aqua potion in the camp pot just before dawn. Kuno and his guys lasted much longer before dying, although I don't think Stone ate because he would still always die. I ended up accepting one loss.

I killed everyone. Looted the bandits, got the Zoul armor and the 6k. Radzig didn't care. It's a nice payday but the real money comes from fixing Pribby. It becomes a cash cow once you're done and you get the specific people in (Kornelius, Adam, Mirka, etc) to run things. Also there's the Hare quest line that can lead to Henry becoming the Talmberg Master Huntsman which has no stated income but gets you the old ones house. At this point he is far more Divish's man than he is Radzigs. I even rehabilitated those two village idiots and put them to work in Pribby this play through. In my previous ones I went out of my way to get them hanged.

I never did anything like that. Only some thieving here and there for Bacchus ring quest (ad only torches and some small weapons can be looted - not the case for Jan Bearman). Like I mentioned I had a fistfight sparring with Jan Bearman, that's when he removed all his weapons and he never got back on his feet after I punched him unconscious. I even tried to load and save and his body completely was completely removed.
