He's way better off as a pet who annoys Peshek instead.
i completely agree
there is a "setting" (like heel or one of the others) that makes him less annoying...
but that's only "less" annoying
he's also no good in any fight with multiple armored opponents - they basically kill Mutt in a few strikes (far easier than i do) and then Mutt vanishes back to the Mill... and good riddance
i see no benefit for Mutt to be a Companion - maybe the initial low level stuff, but once Henry's had about an hour of training and encounters some real opponents, Mutt's seems useless as a Companion (but i've never seen a need for an animal companion NPC)
I've thought about it more than once, but by te looks of it, we'll be forced to put up with that fleebag in KCD2, so I guess I'll try to get used to it...
Just learn to talk to him and properly say its commands.
You want to get some herbs in peace? Talk to Mutt, tell him to stay. Done.
You want to stealth without his company? Talk to Mutt, tell him to stay. Done.
You dont want to command Hunt a specific rabbit all the time? Talk to Mutt, set Hunt command.
Mutt is there for you to stun-lock and bleed your opponents, Mutt is there for you to warn you about dangerous foes ahead and he is even there for you to let you know about some hidden treasures.
Its not his fault you dont know how to properly command him.
I cant understand how people didnt understand this basic about Mutt.
Now, Mutt is not perfect in one simple thing: The howling. God, that's awful after sometime. And he should bark a bit less. Thats the only 'problem' with Mutt. Apart from these two sounds, he works perfectly.
This so reminds me of Winnie the Pooh's Eeyore.
Ay, if you want to keep Mutt, Stay is such a great command when you know he's not going to be any good for whatever it is that you want to do.
And yes, as I was browsing, I saw a couple mods on Nexus mods to make him less annoying. But no i havent tried them.
Now, aren't you a clever fellah? At which point did I say I didn't know how to command him? I use the stay command often enough to keep him from messing up things. My problem is his erratic movements when I'm trying to perform the complex task of 'walking through town' with him constantly obstructing or shoving me. It's just annoying. Letting him walk at heel instead of free makes it a little better, but that's very little help.
By the way the howling can be taken care of with the 'Mutt be quiet' mod over at the nexus.
