Second you need strength and agility, a good defense and good warfare skills.
If it were me... and it was... I wouldn't start the tourney until I was at least level 10 in all martial arts related attributes.
Once I did start (shortly after i learned Master Strikes) I won every tourney I entered (7+) and only lost one bout in all that time (because I was fiddling with lock and unlock).
FWIW. you can win every single bout with Master Strikes alone...
But man is frustrating to beat the living ♥♥♥♥ of those guys and still lose.
Well, maybe it's your system :D because I never had that problem. Truth to tell, I think you just need to "git gud" . You may hate to hear that for any number of reasons, but when you distill it all down, that's what it comes to.
You mistake Master Strike for Combo. It's not the same thing at all. To be able to do a Master Strike, you must first learn it from Captain Bernard.
so as Mac above advises, train with Bernard until at least in vicinity of skill level 10 in your weapon of choice, and warfare. defense is slower as it depends on you actually defending, blocking.
I think you're right...
@Agrael Master Strikes don't involve any sequences-- one (click) and done. One click of the 'block' button and that's it. You don't even have to move. Some people think it is overpowered, and in 1v1 it may be. But in melee or in real combat it's not always that easy to pull off. But still a critical skill to have.
If i had to git gut i wouldnt be able to hit them 16+ times. The problem is the single 4 times they hit and my hp drops to zero. So, one single combo and im out. On the other hand, they dont lose. You hit any heavly armed bandit 16 times, being 6 in the head and he is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dead.
Those 4 hits you took would have been a combo, draining your stamina and depleting your health. Combos can be quite deadly, that is why they are hard to pull off. I've dropped enemies with 1 combo before.
Thank you very much, this was very helpful. So the armour in this game is relative to stamina, right? So if i deplete my stamina, my armour rating will go down and if they hit me with a combo then im dead, right?
Keep in mind dodges, perfect blocks and master strikes cost no stamina and breaks their combo. So you want to do these as much as possible.
Then the better your armour, the better your defense. And, on top of that, you have to have a high level of defense to hold your own against opponents who, may or may not have a high level of skill or highly rated weapons or first class armour. Raising your defense and your warfare xp make a lot of difference.
It all works together and from the start Henry (and you) need to work at learning and training and getting better... in every skill attribute... as well as getting better equipment.
